with his now cancelled sequel? His whole "Wrath of Khan" idea. Do you think he will ever reveal which way he was gonna go with the movie?

If he does, it will probably be a while. I'm sure his ego is bruised at this point. Personally, I don't even care. I doubt it would have been compelling. You don't start slow and hope people will wait around for the good stuff.

Man. He really made a SUCKY Superman movie.

But I still want to know what he was going to do.

I'd very much rather he let it public what his third X-men film would have been all about.

Or better yet----I wish he had made it instead of Superman Returns. I love Superman Returns, but I would have liked an entirely new approach to Superman (in this day and age) than what we got and would very much have preferred he completed his X-men story, because that was an amazing trilogy he was on his way to making.

I'm sure he'll reveal his plans one day and I still won't care. First impressions and all that. If he had given the people what they wanted from the get-go we would be talking about the Superman sequel that was coming out at the end of 09 because of the strike.

I'm sure it was something invovling Zod anyway. And I'm only half joking...sad I know.

I think his direction left when the writers did. I still also feel that he had a hand in its demise because he would not compromise.

I liked returns and at the end of the day it still has a purpose just like batman and robin did. We may end up getting the best new superman series to date.

MaYBE What someone should ask is how do you feel when you make an epic failure of a movie? NOW THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING.

Lex Luthor, with a real estate scheme, a plane saving scene............it was exactly like Reeve's version. All this time & this is all Singer can come up with? UNACCEPTABLE.

What if........? X-Men may have been best comic trilogy & someone else would have had a BETTER Superman. What a shame.

^I know, instead we were left with two broken franchises...

He's revealed a little of what that would (here and here) but i think he said a one point that he was saving some of the ideas for the Ultimate X-Men comics which he, Dougherty and Harris agreed to write a couple years ago.

As for Superman i hope their ideas for a sequel are revealed down the line.I get the feeling though a lot of people will bash it even if sounds great.

Am I the only person who thinks Singer didn't have a plan for sequels? I feel like he pursued getting the Superman gig just so he could make his little homage movie and then he didn't care what WB did with the series.

With the success of the previous 2 X-Men films, I think WB jumped to see if they could snag Singer. I dont think he ever had Supes in mind. My theory is he WAS concentrating on X3, but when WB came calling he jumped. Then realized he didnt have a plot or original idea.

Since stupid announce by Robinov, Superman Reboot is going to be happen, so yes... Bryan Singer will announce that they will not make a sequel of SR.

Thank you very much, Robinov.

Must be a fresh restart IMO, so Routh would have to go.

Maybe not. I bet this whole thing has left him angry and bitter. This was his dream project and it turned into a firestorm of differing opinions of his movie that was supposed to start a franchise, now looking like it is one movie and that's it. Nobody that was involved with SR when they wrapped, filming thought that would be the end. That is for sure.

I don't how true this is. But I’ve read somewhere on these forums that Singer, Dougherty and Harris wrote two treatments for the sequel. One involved the villains Brainiac and Bizzaro the other Darkseid and his minions. According to what I read though it said the studio didn't like either treatment because they felt the villains were to fantastical for what Bryan Singer set up in Superman Returns. Which I have a hard time believing since after Returns left the theater the studio has always said they wanted someone Superman can fight in the sequel.

I think even haters of SR would still be curious of what Singer had planned for the trilogy.
For me i always wanted to know what singer had store for supes in terms of villains and where he wanted to go with supes kid and Richard White.

He was scrambling for writers this past summer, so any idea he had, was just bare bones. I'm sure he'll give some sort of idea of what he was thinking. But if he waits until after the release (whomever is doing it) of the next Superman movie, I for one will be skeptical about it's authenticity.
