Just getting close to giving up the fight to give the movie a chance.

Oh ok. I was just checking. Hm? what is it mist Coleman? Oh yes. He wants me to tell you not to maek any short jokes whil he is with his woman there.:ninja:

Well, I geuss we should all just boycot this movie. They've obivously decided that, even though Jazz is shorter than Bumbebee, he has a lower rank, can't kick as much ass, and definitely has to be an underdog since short people are always the underdog.

What do you always have to go to an "extreme." Can't you just discuss something? I'm sorry you feel so exasperated.

In any case, concerning what you said... have you read the script? Bumblebee kicks serious a**. That's not really a good thing... considering [BLACKOUT]Jazz goes out (gets killed) like a weakling punk[/BLACKOUT]. I'm not saying Bumblebee has to be "this or that" for any other reason other than that's WHO HE IS. That's the way Jim Shooter and Bob Budiansky wrote him and I thought it was just fine.

I have tried discussing things from time to time. But since you and a lot of others seem to tke the extreme negative side, it seems you want company. I have also read most of the script (I skim) and found that while it did leave out a lot of details and had shortcomings, I figured things like this will be clarified and tweaked as filimg goes on. You seem to think that the script is EXACTLY as it will appear on screen. Same with the leaked pics we've all seen. It's kind of like taking thing out of context. Like if someone said, "Once I have $1million, then I will buy the house I've always wanted." But they're quote as saying, "I have $1million."

You're right. The script is old. And the pics will not do justice to the way it will probably look on the big screen. But we really have nothing else to go on. I guess it boils down to a matter of optimism (heh heh) than anything else. Right now, it doesn't SEEM to be headed in the right direction in lots of folks opinion.

agreed cflash.
its pretty much T.I.N.O.
only prime is recognisable in look and personality.
bumblebee........thats not bumblebee. its kup!! thats how the script has written him. a loyal and couragous battle scarred veteran warrior.
but again. none. none of the TF's that i have seen other than prime resemble their original counterparts. in personality or look.

oh well. at least prime will rock.

Weakling punk? (shakes head). You know...Jazz does actually pull his weight before he's killed. He
saves Lennox and the kids...and spin kicks Devastator into a wall...which sounds pretty badass, considering Devestator is massive. Then he joins with Ironhide and Ratchet to take on Bonecrusher.

Are you saying that Bumblee should constantly lose? Bumblebee was concieved characterwise as a plucky, underdog warrior (often a successful one). That's who he's always been, that's who he appears to be in the film. The underdog nature of Bumblebee is stamped all over his characterization in the TRANSFORMERS draft we've seen. Being an underdog doesn't neccessarily mean you lose all the time, just that not everyone expects you to win against the odds. Bumblebee is depicted as a loyal soldier with a lot of heart. Not as a constant failure. That's Scooter, from Gobots. :)

Incidentally...

Bumblebee has been depicted very inconsistently in terms of his size, sometimes being as tall as other small Autobots, other times barely taller than a human. In his only official measurement, given in one of the early issues of the Marvel Comics, Bumblebee is said to stand 15 feet tall in robot mode. The toy of Bumblebee is about 5 cm long, whereas a real Volkswagen Beetle is 406 cm (13.32 feet) long, implying a scale of 1:81. With a robot mode height of 8 centimeters, Bumblebee should stand about 648 cm (or 21.3 feet) tall.

How tall is Bumblebee in the film again? :)

It's going out like a weakling punk to essentially sacrifice yourself for a teammate or innocent? It makes one a weakling to take on someone three times their size? So what does that make Jesus, then? It's not like all Jazz does in the script is die. He's active in the battle. He does his part.

And as far as Bumblebee goes...are you saying that Bumblee should constantly lose? Bumblebee was concieved characterwise as a plucky, underdog warrior (often a successful one). Dude it's pointless to try to explain the size differences in terms of reality as compared to a cartoon. They won't listen.

I think you mean David from David vs Goliath. Jesus was a man of peace and that's why Jewish people don't accept him as their Messiah because they wanted a warrior :woot:
Back to Transformers, Orci said in the Yahoo Q&A that BumbleBee would still have the underdog feel to him. We'll see July 7th (or when the trailer comes out ;) ) if he keeps his word.

Eh, I screwed that up. For some reason I remembered Jazz
jumping onto Megatron. Turns out he jumped onto Devestator
. Still pretty valiant, but not quite the sacrifice I was thinking it was...or is it?

And obviously "three times their size" was added after I wrote the Jesus line, and added in the wrong place. Which is why i went back and edited it all. :)

Why would a guy (The Guard), who is not into TF, never watched the toons or read the comic, and is pretty clueless bother with reading that entire script??? It took me like two months to even bother... and I'm a fan.

Then perhaps ou should have written a script and shopped it around Hollywood Then when A studio picked it up, you could have had a say in who directed it.

You act as if this is THE script John Rogers was born to write. This is the guy that gave us Catwoman. He didn't need to be writing this script. Sadly Orci and Kurtzman's "additions" (Bayisms) to the script (a requirement before Bay would sign on to the project) probably just made it worse.

Bravo for Peter Jackson saying this! I hold a similar philosophy. Movies of certain genres can be good if you invest the time in them to make them good.

Simple. Because I'm a fan of Transformers. The concept of Transformers is fantastic. I love many of the characters and much of the mythology. And btw, I did watch the cartoon from time to time (and the movie), and I have read the occassional comic book. I just don't remember too many details about them because it was years ago, and I was a very small child. Why would I bother? To see if it's any good. To see if it's a movie whose production is worth following.

Continue to insult me for no other reason than we disagree...and I'll simply make you look bad. Keyword: simply. You're leaving yourself wide open.

OK. Now, let's use another subject and make assumtions about it. I clicked over to your website, looked at the pictures, read the names of your bandmates, and heard the music. Based on these three items, I will assume that your band is into satanic worship, is made up of older guys all 30+, and only wants to make music that sounds like as many other bands as possible so you can get signed with a major label and make a lot of money. Am I correct, or have I perhaps passed judgement a little too soon? Maybe I should give a better listen to the music, read the bios, etc. before I come to a conclussion??

Hey your exactly right! We are a bunch of Satan worshipers out to make money!
That must be why we write non-mainstream songs and get rejected by record companies all the time because we don't sound enough like "korn" or "limp Bizkit".
One record company actually told us we needed to get rid of our Bass player because he plays too many notes...
If the record companies had thier way they would sign us and change everything around until we sounded just like everyone else. Kinda like Bay is genericising (is that even a word?) Transformers.

See.. your analogy is kinda lame because we arent based on an established property.
Now If my band started calling ourselves "KISS" and we all dressed up in really bad makeup and platform shoes and re-did all the KISS tunes in a completely differnt style that wouldn't make us KISS would it?
It sure wouldn't and it looks like thats exactly where transformers is headed.
There's more to transformers than just the name and the fact that it has robots.
When Bay, Murphy and Rogers started Transformers Prime had a girlfriend and he was a firetruck etc.
Without us fans complaining and letting those guys know that Transformers meant something to us they would have utterly destroyed the Transformers movie and we would have a robot love story on top of all the other Bayisms.
You may not like some of us being negative about a movie that hasn't come out yet but tough rocks pal. Your going to have to get over it. You may want to take a "wait and see" attitude but not I.
I have read the leaked script and the set photo's and set reports from various websites and news outlets confirm alot of the scenes from the script. We've all seen the designs of the transformers and some of them range from "I can live with that" (IE Optimus) to "crappy looking pile of scrap metal" (IE Megatron).
We all know that this movie is from the director of Pearl Harbor and the writer of Catwoman.
I don't know about you but if I see someone pouring salt into the Kool-aid I don't have have to drink a glass of it to tell you it tastes like S**t.
I'm not here to get your panties in a bunch. I'm Here in the hopes that maybe if we voice our opinions there is some chance that they can still make a few changes for the better.
Sorry but I can't be like you and just accept whatever is given to me regardless of how bad it is. As long as there are people like me around there will be at least some chance of the movie studios not ruining cool properties.
And as long as there are people that will accept whatever mindless drivel studios release just because it has a famous name on it studios will keep buying the names of franchises and making spiritless movies.

right on big d evil.
well said.
and good luck with your band.
stick to your guns.
