This is why you don't shop at Best Buy

I usually go there for peripherals (headsets and such) and if there is a movie Im having trouble finding, the Best Buy near me usually has most of what im looking for and the employees have been cool to me

Oh check out the s**t I'm currently going through with these *****e bags

I got a tv from them a year ago and bought the 4 year warranty. So like almost two months ago, the sound went out. So I call em to see about getting a replacement, the told me they have to see if they can fix it first, and the next opening for an appointment was 3 weeks from then. So, I wait 3 weeks, guy come out. Checks the mute button, turns the volume up, turns it down, then says, yup, it's broke. This happens all the time. I gotta order a part. So, he orders it, a week goes by, they call me again, and say, okay, we got the part, now we gotta make another appointment to install it. 3....weeks.....later......he shows up. Installs the part....still doesn't work. He says, maybe there was something wrong with the replacement part. he's gonna have to order another one and install it. So, i'm pissed! I'm like, this s**t is obviously busted! Why don't you guys just give me a new tv? Then he's like, well, 45 days has to pass before we have to replace it. So we have to try and fix it before the 45 days is up. I'm like Dude! It's been almost two months now! The 45 days is up! So, I call the customer service people, they have me on hold for like an hour and finally tell me since they already ordered the part, I'm just gonna have to wait another week for it to come and supposedly they're gonna come install it as soon as it comes in. That was a week ago. No call telling me the part has come in. No call telling me when's the next time they're gonna come out. And there's nothing I can do but bend over and take it cuz it's all in the warranty.

Must be nice. Every BB I've been to, the employees are as brain dead as can be.

Oh, that sucks. I like Target alot more than Walmart. They're basically the same thing except I think Target has a better atmosphere. Walmart is starting to look like a fleemarket. lol.

Gamestop definitely has more games. I love gamestop and i always get the hookup there too cause i know the people that work there. Like, for example, i got to play batman:AA 4 days before it was released. that was so awesome!

Gamestop has a good selection of used games and consoles, too. Brother got a X-box from there (disc tray LOVES to jam though) and you can pretty much only buy X-box games used now for the most part, I think.

Best Buy is only 15-20 mins away from me.

Best Buy likes messing with you Anubis. The one I go to...at least the people are awake and friendly.

i had one really bad experience with best buy.

i bought a navi system for my gf at the time. i gave it to her and she opened the box to look at the system but she never took it out of the plastic. she actually didnt want it so i returned it and they charged me a restocking fee just because the seal of the box was off. the navi inside was still in the plastic and it was brand new but they still refused to give me my full money back. i was sooooo pissed. i even bought the warranty on it. i easily paid a good $300-$400 for it too. i just sucked it up after yelling at them and took whatever they gave me back.

They actually have a Reward Zone "Gamer's Club" specifically for videogames, accessories, consoles, points cards .. basically everything that involves gaming. Instead of spending $250 to get $5 back, I think it's only $100 you gotta spend. Good deal if you're a videogame nerd like me.. :P

And yeah, "s**tty" employees? You can find them anywhere and for any company.. for you to generalize that BB employees are "Brain-dead" .. that's messed up. :/

I saw it in another forum, in their funny images thread.. and did not get it :o

Yes, because everybody buying a PS3 nows how to do all that.

Uhhh it's not hard to follow picture instructions on how to setup the console and it isn't hard to follow directions on screen on how to do all that stuff they offer. The 360 even asks you if you want to set up parental controls when you first plug it in and it even asks if you want to download the firmware updates!!! FOR FREE!!!

The PS3 even has a big icon that says download updates and of course it is in that pesky instructions manual:cmad: If you have the money to pay to do that, then by all means. But, you are either lazy and/or stoooopid if you pay for that:o

If people want to spend money on that, then let them. I don't ***** and moan when people buy stuff I won't. It's not like they're spending my money.

I laughed so hard when I saw this. If you don't know how to update or connect your PS3 to the internet you don't deserve to own one.

It doesn't change the fact that it is extremely overpriced and the service that they offer is relatively easy. Hey, I charge $100 for me to come over and reset the clock on your microwaves, DVD players, or VCRs!:awesome:

It's ridiculous and Best Buy deserves to be lol'd at and the people who pay for it deserve to be slapped. I would gladly do that for $20 and the gas money it took me to get over there. I agree with Parox. If you don't know how to connect it or operate it, you don't need one:o

Then more power to them for seperating fools and their money.

i doubt they have many customers for that anyway; and to those that do pay, they deserve to get ripped off.

I don't play video games, but all my friends, my brother, pretty much everyone I know has an X Box and not 1 single person had trouble setting it up themselves. I don't think anything involved with video games is "rocket science" and NOTHING should warrant paying $130 for something you can EASILY do yourself if you use, you know, your brain

There is good and bad to the Geek Squad. They are great at trouble shooting a problem with your PC, but other then that you can get help for free buy calling tech suport for your electronic device and do it your self. But they did charge my mother $200 buck to just turn on her PC and say we can't fix this and then leave her house without telling her where she could get it fixed. I walked her throught some things on the phone and found that it was her hard drive that was failing, so she called HP and they sent her a new PC and a box to ship the broken one back to them for free. It ended up she wasn't alone with problems with this model.

Geek Sqaud even charges you $100 to hook up a wireless router to you pc, or to calabrate your HD Tv. I am in the wrong line of work. I could charge half of what they do and make a killing.

When people say "there should be a law against this" there usually shouldn't. It's a total rip off for most people, certainly for us, but if someone is buying their kid a PS3 and wants it to be hooked up and doesn't know how to do it... And they have 130 bucks to spend on it... What's the problem?

Uhhh, because chances are the kid is smarter than their dumbass parent whose paying 130 dollars and could hook the damn thing up themselves.

Seriously, hooking video game systems is one of the easiest things in the world. The only thing worse is if Best Buy sold Toasters and charged you 75 bucks to come plug into the wall and even check to see if correctly makes your toast! :o

for some people it is very easy...for a lot of parents who know **** all about video games not so much

Like I said I can guarantee you any 5 or 6 year old (cause really that's when most kids are gonna really enjoy this type of thing anyways) could hook up a damn PS3/360/Wii with ease.

HAHA. Plug in the color coded AV cord, check. Plug in the power strip into an electrical outlet, check. Please pay $130.

American TV... a rather bug electronics/appliance dealer in the Wisconsin area pulls the same crap with TVs... it's like 400 for them to come to your house, plug your flat screen in, then plug in the cables in teh back
