I think Charles has always been the most stable character, he carries the X-Men really. To be honest I wasn't as fond of Emma Frost and Scott as I was of Charles. Although they do a good job running the institute together I don't think it gives of that wonderful vibe that Charle's institute did.
In addition to this McCavoy was amazing! His portrayal was perfect, completely flawless, in my opinion.
