Thor: Love and Thunder | Official News and Speculation Thread

Definitely not what i was expecting. They are leaning alot into that fun vibe which i really enjoyed in Ragnarok but this almost feels different. I think the trailer itself wasn't put together well though. From the narration to the fun vibe, Gorr reveal and black and white stuff didn't mesh all that well together.

I feel like most of the stuff that feels a bit off will probably play way better in the film. For example Korg's narration is fun but in the context of the trailer is not hype inducing, as a scene in the film i'm sure it will be a lot of fun... Then i though the Jane stuff was pretty great, some cool shots of Thor and Gorr, the black and white imagery feels a bit strange in the context of the trailer but again i think it will make much more sense when we see the film.

Seems that they are going to make Gorr a big threat and we can already see that the level of power and feats from our heroes and villain is turned up a few notches.

The CGI looks pretty good but there are definitely some spots that need polishing. Overall i think the trailer is fine but not awesome and i hope it all comes together well as the final product.

Feels like the helmet being goofy and how he is acting around Jane is part of the comedy stuff.

I’m not sure on the trailer’s structure being ideal unlike for eg the teasers for both this and Ragnarok. There’s enough things underlying that will look great in the film though. Gorr, Jane and Valkyrie all look great, plus Hemsworth’s Thor body is 100% back.

Definitely. They are going to play that comedic angle.
I thought Natalie Portman was really good.

The comedy was a bit hit and miss although the last joke actually got a chuckle out of me, but if anything, it definitely looks like Bale is going to be awesome as Gorr and I'm really liked the black and white visuals during the action sequences in the trailer and the nice contrast with the various other powers.

This is all over Tumblr already :funny:

This would be the second time they’ve blurred a shot in a trailer. The first being Quill’s middle finger in the first Guardians trailer.

I was underwhelmed by the trailer, but I’m still excited to see the movie. I thought Taika went a little too Taika and this is one of the reasons I had some reservations about him as a Fantastic Four director.

Now that i've adjusted to the vibe and feel of the trailer it's actually looking better and better with rewatches. There a ton of cool shots with Thor, Mighty Thor, Gorr... that i'm gonna be trying to find online to post here.

:yay:

Yeah I was thinking probably about a month out.
Don't think tickets go on sale till after Lightyear's release. Don't think they want to expose Pixar's first big theatrical release since Toy Story 4 to friendly fire, especially after the fracas over Turning Red.

Gorr is creeping me out more and more. Looks like a scary MF.
That black and white imagery everytime he is on screen is fascinating though. We have never seen that in the MCU.

I'm going to make it my background.

Sadly I think it'll be censored in the film as well....because of "comedy"

Looks like Gorr is sucking the vibrancy from the universe. This is to contrast the vibrant look of Thor. The happy and silly vibe.

I mean, we got Hulk-butt in Ragnarok, so I don't think it's out of the question to get Thor-butt this time around. Hoping Disney lets them do it, because that awkward sex scene in Eternals somehow managed to make the MCU MORE sex-less.

It definitely occurred in Ragnork and was fleshed out in Avengers Infinity War and Endgame.
Marvel were probably open to a more drastic change in tone and visuals after the reaction to TDW, and they certainly got it!
