I would prefer a setting mostly on Earth.

I do have one question, how exactly did the Donald Blake/Thor connection work in the comics?

when as donald blake he is for all intents and purposes a normal human with a lame leg [with dr blakes persona in charge]unti he forcefully slams his cane[the transformed hammer mjolnir] tip to the ground at which point the magic of the hammer releases the full power and persona of thor

Come to think of it, creating a non-cheesy Asgard setting will require detailed and expensive creations through CGI or plain sets. It's better to be done in 2nd or 3rd movie, when Thor is given a bigger budget than the 1st movie.

Disagree. LOTR wasn't that expensive.

And of course most people will say Spiderman just because he is Spiderman. Oh how I would love for him to be killed off.

I like Ultimate Thor, esp. the costume without the silly hat.

Tank top and goatee beard looks a bit too close to the Blue Oyster for comfort. He's meant to be a warrior god not one of the Village People for goodness sake. :oldrazz:

The new Helmet design looks pretty cool.

So, they're directly going for the Ragnarok arc. Oh... (speechless)

I would doubt it, but I can see them trying to throw in too many elements that have no place in a Thor origin movie.

Mark Protosevich is responsible for Poseidon. We all see how that goes down (pun not intended).

:woot:

In his defense trying to remake the Poseidon Adventure was a forlorn task, lets be honest. The original is a true classic. So really we can put the blame squarely on Hollywood for that...maybe they'll wise up and realise no one wants to see crappy remakes of great movies. It seems pretty clear that Hollywood commissioned Mark to write the script...and who the heck wouldn't have jumped at $500,000 (or whatever it was they paid).

I'm not convinced that he's a good writer.

If he needs a co-writer I'll happily volunteer.

I just want the whole fantasy side of Thor; I want Frost giants, I want trolls, I want Loki etc.

Well I should stress again that my Thor Movie Treatment has ALL THE ABOVE ELEMENTS, and but for one flashback and the last 2 minutes, is set wholly on Earth.

www.immortalshandbook.com/shrine2.htm

Maybe the first one dealing more with Earth, and the second one being more of an asgardian epic, the third one being Ragnarok?

I don't think I would ever do a Ragnarok storyline...because once you do...thats basically it for the franchise.

I think I have settled on twelve Thor movies.

Earthly Trilogy
Asgardian Trilogy
Mythological Trilogy
Cosmic Trilogy

The Earthly Trilogy would of course have Asgardian elements within, but Earth would always be the place under threat in these movies.

So basicly they're two individuals who share the same body?

Thor probably has the best rouges gallary in the M.U.

Agreed.

Thor would better benefit from a movie on Asgard with such villians as compared to earth.

Nonsense, most of the villains on your list fought Thor on Earth first.

Look at the list

Kurse...first fought on Earth (as Kurse not Algrim obviously)
Malekith...first fought Thor on Earth
Loki...first fought on Earth
Destroyer...first fought on Earth
Surtur...first fought Thor on Earth
Ulik...first fought on Asgard
Mangog...first fought on Asgard

It is my opinion that you can have a better movie with them if taken place in Asgard because depending on their scheme it is Asgard related anyway,

Your logic is escaping me.

plus you can get away with more in terms of spx and writing. Not saying I don't ever want Thor on Earth, but not for the first movie.

Did you look over the six points I raised near the start of this thread?

I mean it would be cool in the first movie to see Loki with the help of Ulik try to take over the throne.

I had that in my flashback scene at the start of my Thor Movie treatment. :oldrazz:

That doesn't mean we have to stage the whole movie on Asgard.

2nd film maybe you can Thor and Odin take on Surtur and Kurse

Well you could, but surely you would keep what is perhaps Thor's best ever story for the end of a trilogy: in my opinion this movie should be Thor #6 closing out the Asgardian Trilogy.

and the third can be on earth in where Thor gets dispatched be the decree of Odin.

It doesn't make sense for Thor to get dispatched to Earth at this stage...you've already had him save Asgard twice. :whatever:

Loki finds out, thinks Thor weaker or more vunerable on Earth, thus sends Mangog down there to destroy him and so on.

In other words just poop all over Mangog's origins too now and make him a puppet of Loki's!? Why not go the whole hog and make Mangog a cloud for goodness sake. :oldrazz:

I don't think they could pull off the movie entirely in Asgard without looking ridiculous.
