I just hope Thor gets more emphasis in the future. Him getting [BLACKOUT]15 minutes of screen time as one of the big three in AOU [/BLACKOUT]is just not the right way to go IMO

Yeah it's starting to get on my nerves a little. At least his scenes were awesome in AOU but when he's not [BLACKOUT]fighting for screen time with the Avengers [/BLACKOUT]he's fighting with Loki. I really am hoping for an epic Ragnarok with a strong character arc for him - akin to the treatment Cap got in Winter Soldier. Cap's film was crowded with characters but it was still his film. (Although I'm not sure how the Russos are going to pull it off in Civil War.) But Ragnarok is probably going to feature a lot of characters as well (hopefully more Asgardian characters this time... cough cough) so the need is there. If they bring Branagh back then we're in good hands. I also really need to see some serious Thor action this time. Too much stuff happens off screen. We haven't gotten an truly epic Thor battle sequence since Jotunheim.

I wonder if Thor will wear his helmet in this movie finally?

For once, I hope the movie is more about Thor than Loki

] Now that Whedon has taken a
major big time dump on the whole Hammer Mystique angle
I wonder if the writers of Ragnorak are scrambling in a WTF!!!! meeting to figure out where to go next.....

That scene got the best reaction in the movie so your post made me go :loco:

Yeah and it's not like it hasn't happened repeatedly in the comics before, oh wait it has. Or that it makes sense in-context, oh wait it did. Seriously, people need to stop LOOKING for problems/slights where there are none.

I Wanna see Loki's children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would be epic.

This x100 seriously people need to stop already.

Nice pic of Sleipner, but i was referring to Hela, Fenris Wolf and the World Serpent

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing his other children, too. I doubt they'll be his offspring in the MCU, though. If I had to choose just one, I would most like to see the Jormungand. Hela is more likely (much larger role in the comics), but I remember reading this (Thor 380) when I was a kid and dreaming about how awesome it would look in real life (and movies are the closest we're gonna get!):

This is one of my all time favorite single issues of Thor! Just perfect.

Yes!! What a classic that was! Simonson's run was the best.

Is it wrong to want to see ALL of these? They don't have to be Loki's kids - just bring them to life!

You know what's funny? I think the Thor films could win back a lot of fans with that simple move alone. There's a deleted scene on the first Thor DVD that gives some insight into how he feels about the helmet. I've often thought that him fully embracing his heritage and responsibility could be symbolized by him finally donning the helmet. I know Hemsworth hates wearing it and getting it right in action is hard but they can totally do it with CGI. Bor's helmet looked amazing in TDW and I was astonished to learn that was added in post!

I really don't care either way. Just make a great movie, Marvel!

Yeah I just watched the first Thor last week

and when he holds up the hammer with the helmet on, I got a little teary-eyed

I'm all "Look! The helm-"
Interrupted by my GF: "I know baby, I know"
"I'm sorry, it just looks.. so... glorious"

Ha ha, nice.

I'm not going to lie - The Dark World was my most anticipated Phase 2 movie and perhaps my biggest disappointment in the MCU. If I could get everything I wanted, this wouldn't be just a Thor movie, it would be the Thor movie. The great one. The "out-with-a-bang". The epic saga the character (and perhaps also we, the fans) deserves.

But this is the real world so right now I'll keep my expectations in check and just wish the project good luck.

I really hope we get a great director for this one, Thor needs some love.

Alan Taylor is a decent director, it's the writing and editing that really let TDW down, IMO. But yeah, I hope they make a strong choice for Ragnarok.

Yup the expectations of the movie really set us up for disappointment. Especially when it had so much potential within the film itself. Truly it wasn't a bad film at all. I think from a film perspective its better and more original then 90% of MCU movies. But for Thor fans it was underwhelming. With Superman MOS preceding it I think alot of the disappointment comes from comparing feats and vastness of their respective home worlds. The irony is TDW is a much better film than MOS. The ticker for Thor fans: Superman looks like Goku on roids while Thor cant keep up with Kurse in a snoozefest of a battle.
Btw Malekith vs Thor was an incredible fight tho

I actually think it was the director's fault and not the writers and I really hope that was the case considering we're getting the same writers for Ragnarok(I think?)
