Haha yep, those evil percentages and averages conspiring against us. Maths in general has always had it in for us. :woot:

Well, I always hated math. It was only a matter of time before it repaid me in kind.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Ragnarok ended up with the highest RT score of any superhero movie? That would cause cranial implosions in certain circles. Lots of goalpost-shifting would go on such as insisting that the average is more important than the percentage (already the favorite argument of the some) or that Metacritic gives a better score (even though no one knows how meta-scores are calculated).

Not going to lie. the thought of this brings a huge grin to my face :D

So we're just short of 160 reviews and it still hasn't dropped at all. Looking very good right now.

I've always backed the average over the Tomatometer but it is funny to see people change the rules and move goalposts when things don't fit the way they want them to. Luckily Ragnarok has a very healthy average too.

"Tessa Thompson's badassery as jumped to new heights as her Valkyrie seems to be Marvel's answer to DC's "Wonder Woman," showing (ONCE AGAIN) that women should be given their own vehicle in the MCU."

"As if trying to out-do Guardians of The Galaxy for wisecracks-per-minute, Thor: Ragnarok oxymoronically takes one of the most dire Norse concepts and turns it into a romp with a barrage of broad jokes and slapstick."

Assuming that this gets 300 reviews, Ragnarok can sustain a total of 16 rottens and still make the new tomato record.

And that would be a big change from the first 150 (which of course is possible, just not overly likely).

Still looking good. Glad I wasn't here when that 7th rotten came in and it dropped to 95% for but for a moment. I think I might of had a heart attack. Lol

I hope this hasn't been said before- I haven't been following this thread, and I don't really have the time to go through forty pages- but I just think it's crazy how it's shaping up that the Thor movies will have both the lowest and highest RT scores in the MCU (and consecutive installments, no less).

Never really thought about it, but definitely an interesting fact, not to mention that it make sense since Thor The Dark World is looked up by many fans as being at least one of the MCU's worst films. Which is not necessarily to say they all view it as terrible, but just bad by comparison to the rest of the MCU Franchise.

Waititi reaches big, creating a cosmic odyssey that's rich with elaborate costuming, ornate sets, strange creatures, and direct danger, coming close to replicating the magic found in 1980's "Flash Gordon."

Not bad, Thor Ragnarok. Not bad at all!

So far, for critical review ratings:

Avengers - 8.0
GOTG & IM - 7.7
TWS, CW & SM:HC - 7.6

Even 7.5 would be good.

I think the film will finish in the high 80's, low 90's.

yep he gave negative reviews to all cbms this year
That's incredible. This might be the greatest year for CB movies ever and he didn't like any of them? Why is he reviewing CB movies? It can only be to hear himself complain about them. Utterly worthless reviews. Who is he talking to who can get anything from his reviews? ...Other people who hate CB movies too and aren't going to buy a ticket? O...kay...

I've always backed the average over the Tomatometer but it is funny to see people change the rules and move goalposts when things don't fit the way they want them to. Luckily Ragnarok has a very healthy average too.
Meh...I ignore the "average". It would at least be somewhat accurate if all reviewers used the same scale. But RT has to figure out what 3/4, 4/5, B+, and of course no rating at all means. And every movie will have a different combination of all those things. And then it's all supposed to translate to something as exact as "7.6" and that will be a "better movie" than 7.5? Pretty hard to take that serious.

Much more important to know the percentage of people who liked a movie than trying to somehow figure out "how much they liked it". The latter is useless to me since I determine how much I like a movie. All I need to know is how likely it is that I may like a movie.

Sounds like another critic to ignore. It's a positive review...but only because of political reasons. I assume she would have given it a rotten review if the cast was all male.

As i said before 90% would be amazing, anything over than that would be excellent...
95% is excellent.
