As much as I don't feel the Chameleon can carry a move either, he should be included anyways, as Spider-man's first super-villain, he deserves something.

As bad as any justification would be for bringing Ock back, I'd want him for the S6 regardless. It's not the 6 without him.
Oh, and no to Punisher, Jackal, Carnage & all the cross-over/cameo ideas that can't happen anyway. And Chameleon doesn't have the depth to carry a movie.
And someone like The Lizard does? I've noticed a trend recently, more people want to see The Lizard only based off of the way he appears in the comics, but most aren't thinking about his psychological presence that he should hold as the villain. The way I'm envisioning Chameleon as a villain is alike Hans Gruber(Alan Rickman) from 'Die Hard'. A villain who doesn't need to be in a fight sequence with McClane to hold a fine on-screen presence. Instead, having this villain orchestrate other villains to try to kill Spider-Man. That's the kind of change I'm looking forward to with this series.

Having Chameleon as a villain would be a fresh new take for the franchise, which is a good thing. Plus, with the Chameleon, the storyline could be really interesting and mysterious. It would be like a crime plot. Spider-Man has to figure out who is real and who is "fake."

Which ever villian(s) they use there's two things that in my opinion have to change.
1) Why can't the bad guys just be bad guys. It seems like in every film the bad guy has kind of a change of heart about their evil ways. Osborn snapped out of it told Spidey "Don't tell Harry" before he died showing remorse. Doc Oc broke control of the arms and saved the day. Then Sand Man gave Spidey puppy dog eyes and blew away into the sunset. The next villian(s) should be more like the characters they're based off of; evil criminals for the sake of being evil criminals.
2) Stop frikkin killing them off! Spidey doesn't kill but his enemies keep dying. I understand Osborn dying in the first one but they shouldn't have killed Doc Oc or even Venom. They should have had Spidey pull Doc Oc out of the water, saving his life. Then end with a shot of Doc Oc sitting in the middle of a cell with his four arms extended out and locked into the walls.
Agreed. (Sorry for the double post.)

Exactly what I was thinking, but not with trying to be an obvious copy of 'The Dark Knight' with all of the detective stuff, but just trying to give the 'Spider-Man' franchise more credibility, and this could also develop further into character's already introduced, mainly: Captain Stacy.

I'm fine with Chameleon as long as we have some strong super villain such as Scorpion, Shocker or Rhino along with him.

What I don't understand is why people are so eager to have the Sinister Six when these are the same people who complained about SM3 being overcrowded with three villains.

Spidey needed help from Harry to defeat 2 villains. He nearly died, so how can he fight six? At first I was for them, but it is so hard to assemble them and give them all enough screen time. Though I don't want the sinister six, I do want three villains in one movie.
Someone mentioned Chameleon. I think yes. Simply because he is this great enemy who hasn't had a chance in the small or big screen as a major threat. He would be good in the 4th movie. Using his brother to get rid of Spiderman for him so he can continue his crimes/plans/whatever by using The Lizard as an excuse. A Kraven and Calypson relationship?

They shouldn't of killed off Venom. Dock Ock was played beautifully, but killed himself. God I wish he never died.

How attatched are people to Kraven as he is? I really can't see a hunter in animal skins fitting in the middle of a city, in fact it wouldn't fit. It would be completely ridiculous to have an actual animal hunter trying to kill a superhero.

I'm thinking he'll need to be given a Green Goblin II/New Goblin makeover to fit in. Perhaps turn him more to the 'assassin' side rather than 'hunter'.

They can still keep his hunting roots, starting off in Africa, but as time went on and he killed more than his fair share of dangerous animals he started shifting his priorities, and eventually recieved offers from local business men to take out gangs in the area. For his involvement in the movie, he could be hired by the government, or even the new owners of Oscorp, to hunt and capture Spider-Man for research in hopes that they can create an army of super soldiers from his super-human DNA. They certainly had an interest in serving the army in SM1.

That's true. Introducing the Chameleon would be an opportunity to use Captain Stacy.

Spider-Man 4: Lizard and Kraven.

Spider-Man 5: Vulture and Electro.

Spider-Man 6: The Sinister Six. Introduce Mysterio at the beginning.

I chose Kraven and the lizard... And they should make something along the lines of kraven's last hunt... That would be a kick ass movie.

I definitely think the villains should be tied in somehow.

Spider-Man 4: Lizard & Kraven (The Lizard is "born", Kraven hears out about it & decides to start hunting him. Spidey keeps interfering, so Kraven decides he will get two prizes at once)

Spider-Man 5: Shocker & Scorpion (Hired assassins to kill Spidey. Yeah I know that Shocker isn't an assigned to kill Spidey but whatever)

I think Rhino should be saved for the Deadpool movie & Carnage should be in Venom's movie, as long as Spidey gets to fight Carnage.

SM4:
SCENE:
Mental Institution:

Peter is working at his new job as an orderly in a mental institution. Peter is sweeping the floor in the hall as a nurse walks up to him and says she needs his help to restrain Mr.Toomes while she gives him his medicine.

Peter lays the broom against the wall and walks with the nurse heading to Mr.Toomes room. Inside the room you see a very old unhealthy looking man who looks like he hasn’t eaten in a month. As the nurse approaches him, Mr.Toomes starts yelling at her calling her offensive names while blabbering nonsense about how Oscorp stole his technology and sent him here.

While Peter is holding Mr.Toomes down while the nurse gives him his medicine, Peter is the only one in the room who actually believes that Mr.Toomes is telling the truth. As Peter and the nurse walk out of the room and into the hall, Peter asks her about what Mr. Toomes was saying. The nurse looks at Peter and says, Peter this is a mental institution for very sick people, you can’t believe what any of them say.

SCENE:
Police Station:

In a police station filled with cops, a man (ELECTRO) comes walking into the building, and the room gets quiet fast. Because of the man’s arms. The man’s arms are a clear type of metal with electricity pulsing through them like a plasma ball that you see in a mall.

The man raises his arms out and bursts of electricity are fired out of them, the cops are ducking for cover as this man is attacking them.

Peter is at his apartment when he hears from his police scanner that a guy is blasting cops at the police station with electricity from his hands.

ELECTRO hears the ding of the elevator right before the doors open up and turns around waiting for the doors to open so he can blast the cops who are inside of it. Right when the door opens, spidey comes leaping out.

SPIDEY VS ELECTRO (in police station)
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..The fight ends when spidey fills up a couple of web balls with water(like water balloons)and tosses them at ELECTRO’s arms which cause ELECTRO to get zapped unconscious. Then we find out that ELECTRO’s arms are robotic and are taken off. The arms go to the evidence room while ELECTRO is taken away to wait trial.

SCENE:
COURTROOM:

In a courtroom the judge is offering ELECTRO a reduced sentenced if he tells the court where he had received those arms at. ELECTRO starts babbling like a crazy person. ELECTRO’s lawyer says you can see my client is mentally ill and that’s why we plead insanity.

The judge agrees by sentencing ELECTRO to a mental institution to get well so he can then spend the rest of his life in prison for being a cop killer.

SCENE:
Mental Institution:

Peter is standing in font of a door looking in through the little window as he sees the armless man in a padded room who killed all those cops. Peter turns around when he hears MJ say his name.

MJ has come by to meet Peter for lunch.MJ asks Peter what’s wrong. Peter says that someone gave this man those arms to go and attack that police station, and that someone is still out there and that they could still give more criminals more firepower to terrorize the city.

A door next to them opens and Dr.Connors comes walking out of it. Dr.Connors says goodnight to Peter and Peter says goodnight to Dr. Connors. MJ asks how is he doing? Peter walks to the door that Dr. Connors walked out of and you see a woman sitting in a chair just staring at the wall.

Peter says ever since that drunk driver on that night hit and killed his son Billy, his wife slipped out of reality. That man has lost his arm, lost his son, lost his wife, and is about to lose his job at the school.

SCENE:
Dr. Connor’s Lab:

Dr. Connors is in his lab looking at the formula on his caulk board. Slamming his fists onto it yelling that his lizard serum should have worked, that the lizard DNA he injected into himself should have made him regroup his lost limb by now.

Dr. Connors desperate to get his arm back picks up the phone and calls his friend who is a scientist for the police department. Dr. Connors says he would like to see those arms that they confiscated from ELECTRO.Dr. Connors friend says he would be glad to show him.Dr. Connors now thinks science instead of medicine is the way for him to get his arm back.

SCENE:
Police Department Forensics:

At the police department’s forensics department Dr. Connors and his scientist friend are examining the robotic arms ELECTRO had when he attacked the police station. Dr. Connors is amazed by the technology, thinking that the world was hundreds of years away from technology like this.

Dr. Connors friend says yeah, it’s a real shame that the genius who made these is trying to make the world more messed up than trying to make it into a better place.Dr. Connors holds one of them to his stump and the arm attaches itself to him.

Dr. Connors and his friend is shocked that it did that. Dr. Connors is excited when he sees that he can control it like a regular arm. Dr. Connors friend is scared that he might lose his job if anyone sees Dr.Connors with that arm

Dr. Connors tells him that he will keep the arm hidden with long sleeves and a glove that he will just tell people that he got a prosthetic arm.

SCENE:
Mental Institution:

At the mental institution Dr. Connors is walking down the hall with a smile on his face and flowers in his hand. Peter sees Dr. Connors and is surprised to see him smiling especially with all that’s been happening.

Then Peter notices that Dr. Connors now has two arms. Peter says, it’s nice to see you smiling Dr. Connors, Dr. Connors says that he knows things are going to change for the better now.

Before Peter can ask Dr. Connors about his new arm, MJ arrives and Dr. Connors walks into his wife’s room.

Peter and MJ see a nearby patient pretending to be web slinging through the hall as the patient is dressed in a spidey costume thinking that he really is spider-man. A nurse yealling at the patient saying: Ben Reilly you come back here and take your medicine.Peter and MJ look at each other and smile.

In Dr. Connors wife’s room you see Dr. Connors all upbeat as he talks to his wife. Then he tells her that he will be right back that he is gonna go put these flowers in some water. Dr. Connors grabs a pitcher to put the water in and heads to the bathroom.

As Dr. Connors turns the faucet on,the broken faucet that always sprays him with water when he visits his wife sprays him this time too. The water gets onto Dr. Connors new arm and instead of zapping him unconscious, the jolt zaps the lizard DNA that is in Dr.Connors blood stream and mutates it by turning him into the LIZARD.

SCENE:
Continued:

Peter and MJ hear the ruckus that is sounding like a demolition crew that is coming from inside Dr. Connors wife’s room. When Peter goes into the room he sees a huge hole going into the next patient’s room and sees a giant lizard tail passing through it.

Peter runs into the hole that takes him into the next room (ELECTRO’s) and goes into the next hole that takes him into the next patient’s room (Mr. Toomes). Peter then hears MJ screaming and Peter runs out into the hallway as MJ tells Peter that she saw a lizard creature.

Peter grabs the patient who is pretending to be spider-man and says to him I’m going to need to borrow this partner, and takes the costume from him. Just before spidey is gonna go after the LIZARD,spidey is blasted in the back by ELECTRO who is standing behind him with one robotic arm that fell off of Dr.Connors as he turned into the LIZARD.

SCENE:
SPIDEY VS ELECTRO in mental institution:
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Electro escapes.

SCENE:
Empty Warehouse:

Mr.Toomes is in an empty warehouse where he walks to a certain spot holding a crowbar. Then he kneels down and prys the floorboard with it. After the boards are lifted up,we see a flight suit (VULTURE).

Vulture wants to attack OSCORP for stealing his technology and for sending him to that mental institution.

SCENE:
Peter’s apartment:

Peter is in his apartment when he hears on his police scanner that a one armed ELECTRO is back at the police station attacking cops and that across town the VULTURE is attacking business men in a office building.

Peter doesn’t know which one to go after.Peter decides to go go to the one that is closer,OSCORP.

SPIDEY VS VULTURE:
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Toomes is put back into the mental institution.

Continuous reports of a lizard creature terrorizing people on the streets of New York,Electro on the lose now with both of his arms back(got them back at the police station) and also an unknown criminal who supplies other criminals with high tech weapons to terrorize the city. What will spidey do in SM5?

Lizard and Kraven... and maybe introduce Kraven by having him capture Rhino just as Spidey is closing in. Kraven gets the adoration of the city, all the while carrying on with other corrupt behaviors. Spidey gets a "black eye" of sorts because he wasn't the one to bring him in. When Connors turns into Lizard, Peter is aware of it, Kraven is hunting Lizard, and Spidey must both stop his mentor/friend, as well as protect him... and expose Kraven for the villain he is. All the while, J Jonah Jameson is reporting every move Spidey makes to protect the Lizard.

I like this set-up in bold. I'm thinking along the same lines, especially with Kraven embarrassing Spidey somewhat.

No not JJ, Spidey is protecting the lizard and JJ is making Spiderman and the lizard a villanous team. "Spiderman and Lizard destroy NY Together!"

i want to see JJJ hire mac gargan (who is a private investigator) to find out how parker is getting all those great shots of spidey. dont make him scorpion until 2 or 3 films in, build the anticipation much like they did with lizard

I think that'd work out if you only saw hints of it in the films, like maybe catching a glimpse of him hiding behind a corner when Peter turns towards him, or Peter bumping into him by mistake while walking out of Jonah's office. Could be good.

What anticipation? Raimi made him a physics professor instead of knowldege on biochemistry or something like that. Besides the character being in the movies, there is nothing more. Of course we could bend some rules and it would kind of work. But waiting 3 moviesto get Scorpion seems wasteful.

Heyo,

Seems like we have a rare opportunity with the way Spider-Man 3 ended.

On the one hand, you have the building story that has shown the maturity of the characters involved and along with this you have this clean slate; where Peter is in a way right back where he started.

Is spider-man still considered a hero?

Will he be able to reconsile with MJ?

What about the death of Harry, how will he cope?

Is there a new relationship with Gwen?

How close is he to finishing his degree?

Aunt May?

The writers have a lot of free reign with this instalment.

I do hope they decide to go with the Lizard for this one, the rumors of Morpheus only fuel it as well.

wow, and upon posting this, I realize even after I lost 1yr of membership when this Hype website started and there was that server crash, I still have one of the earliest sign up dates.

Is anyone else from the old crew here still?

Slag?
Ock?
Brock?

I agree...Lizard is not a good choice for the next film. How many times are we going to go with the SAME story arc with these villains? Lets have ONE truly evil, no redemption at the end...villain for once!
Although I do think the Lizard could hold his own in a film I just dont think he is the best decision story-wise for the franchise. I think SM4 should try to do something different.

Although I do want Lizard in the next movie, I get what you're saying. So far, it's the same type of villain - a good person at heart, accident, becomes bad, and in the end, gets killed and shows some goodness. Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and New Goblin all were the same type of villain. Venom doesn't count. Sandman is also a sympathetic villain. Adding the Lizard in the next movie will be the same type of story/villain. So, who is truly evil - beside Carange? Maybe Scropion or Electro? Or how about the Vulture?
