Option A- She is simply a metahuman; born with her powers.

Option B- She is the last of the "Amazons," a race of female warriors created by either the Old Gods (Olympians) or New Gods (both of which are extraterrestrial).

Option C- Diana was the offspring of a New God and a human woman; born in recent centuries.

None of the aspects that make up Wonder Woman's character require magic-- the costume, the bullet proof bracelets, her powers, or the lasso.

Super strength, super speed, flight- (tactile) telekinesis
Bullet proof bracelets and costume- built with super human strength and speed
Lasso of Truth- alien technology

Did we really need yet another thread about this same topic? The Kryptonian origin rumor was started when people misinterpreted speculation as a scoop. It never HAD any credibility so why must it be posted in nearly every thread, brought up repeatedly, and have multiple threads made about it?

Why? Why? WHY?

This storm just blew over. Why?

no actual origin?

New Gods... huh! They could use Wonder Woman to pull in Fourth World characters to the DCU? That's something I hadn't considered before. They could have the Amazons be a renegade faction of New Gods who took on the name of the tribe of women from Greek mythology?

Then again, that would cut off the entire Greek myth angle for Wonder Woman, and that would be sorely missed. It'd be like trying to tell a Thor story without touching Norse gods. I guess it could be done, it'd just be horribly lacking.

Just have WW as what she is: a part of greek mythology!
Why mess everything up? Why fix things that ain't broken?

Why must you always have to be better than WB/DC, or in this case Jett, thorstone. :o

Actual The New God are decedents of the Norse gods or at least they where when they were created. They are the post Ragnarok gods. But like other things in comics the continuity collapses on its self so that the current Norse gods still exist in the DC Comics also. Then on top of that Kriby did a Thor story with Marvel with Ragnarok happening and after that He left and joined DC, he continued where he left off with the new gods taking over after eons past. He basically just took that idea to DC and created the New God with there back story being the same as the Thor story left on.

Kriby's last Marvel Thor Ragnarok Story.

Kryptonian is better than all 3 of those options.

Thought this was over?

Time to start another rumor: batman gets bit by a radioactive/(kryptonian bacteria of course) bat explaining how he can fly and how he has crazy bat powers

My guess is that the ancient Kryptonians were seen as gods and one of these mated with Hypolita, thus creating Wonder Woman.

This. I like her New 52 origin. The daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta

What's wrong with an island of Amazonian warriors?

Maybe they could have a treaty with the rest of the world to keep their location secret.

How exactly are the second and third option "not magical"? The New Gods are just as magical as the Olympians, they just don't feel the need to stick to an ancient primitivist aesthetic most of the time. Unless, of course, by "magical" you mean "completely alien and antithetical to science such that rational analysis is impossible". . . which besides being impossible, would come as a big surprise to Hephaestus at the very least, what with him doing stuff like building robotic assistants.

Just no to it all. I want to keep the magical origins she's always had, period.

There is no need for Wonder Woman to be of Kryptonian descent in order to explain her powers. If they want her to be descended from extraterrestrials; then they can utilize the New Gods in her origin.

So in origin A, Wonder Woman is a meta human like Black Lightning's kids. Next.

She is the last of the Amazon's. We already have last of the Wayne's, Martians, and Krypotians.

Opinion 3 sounds like the guy Sam was playing in those Titan films.

How hard is it really to have a magic island full of hot ass kicking women?

Wouldn't supernatural be a better term than magical?

Magic isn't happening in the films. Magic is a word that primitives use to describe something they can't explain.

The Olympians can be explained as "Old Gods." The term Old Gods could apply to the gods of the Greeks, Indians, and other ancient cultures.

The Amazons can remain a creation of the Old Gods. It doesn't require magic-- it requires genetic engineering to make a race that always births women.

Wonder Woman doesn't need to be absorbed with Old Gods that should all be dead. When Wonder Woman gets her own film; she should be fighting Nazis and other super humans, not Greek Gods.

How exactly are the second and third option "not magical"? The New Gods are just as magical as the Olympians, they just don't feel the need to stick to an ancient primitivist aesthetic most of the time. There would be no magic-- the New and Old Gods would be nothing more than higher evolved beings. Ancient man percieves a being with super strength or that can fly and thinks, he/she is a god, but they are just expressing what our modern super heroes exhibit-- telekinesis, pyrokinesis, psychokinesis, etc.

Flash is a metahuman (though he gained his powers through a science experiment gone wrong, not through evolution).

Bruce Wayne isn't the last human and the Amazons wouldn't be dead because their world was destroyed like Manhunter or Superman. She would be the last of the Amazons because she would simply be the last in the bloodline.
