I thought those make-up jobs and props were terrible. Is there ANYTHING deep about these villains in these big ass movies? No there isn't usually.

Quality-wise, yes, they were... but they showed potential. In short, while they were ugly they were not fundamentally ugly. At least, in my observation. In order to be convincing, they would simply need to be done better, not completely redesigned. Thus, the concept works, thus, proof of concept. Who cares if they're ugly? We're going to redo them anyway.

As for anything deep... well, deep is subjective. Good movie villains have motivation if not layers of empathy, and that's one thing that Mumm-Ra lacks that even other cartoon villains have.

Of course, a writer fan or not, could create one, but his lack of motivation and distinctiveness is, in my opinion, a big part of the reason why we haven't seen Thundercats capitalized on since it's original broadcast, aside from the comic book series. It takes some serious work to inject motivation and storyline into an established character that has little.

Not so much for say, Megatron.

That is actually cool somehow. Something worth playing up.

Should there be a "Cast Silverhawks" thread to compliment this one? :cwink:

this casting is awesome. nicely done. i think michael jai white and panthero is hands down one of the best choices i've ever come across. can you post or pm me the full lion-o pic. that doesn't look like a bare mid-drift pic.

The only chance this movie has at remotely being good is if its done like TMNT.

Live action is out of the question.

Well it will be CGI

can't agree with this and wish it weren't. I loved TMNT. but i think live-action would be better. Especially with the recent success of Transformers and potential revival of GI Joe, i think it has more chance of being successful as a live-action isntead of a "cartoon"

Well even TMNT was pretty flawed. Not to mention it did disappointing business, not good enough to fully revive the movie franchise.

sad. because i realy liked taht film.

I like its trailer style, but the actual footage of live action ThunderCats confirms that it doesn't work. This movie would need to be CG to be credible.

how are you gonna compare the costumes of very very low-budget film with a movie scale. it doesn't work because it's a fan-made trailer. no way you can compare the two.

so are you gonna tell me that spiderman won't work on the big screen now? not a fair comparison.

Could be horrible... that live action clip actually shows promise... it shows how easy it is for humans to look feline and still be slick and attractive. As far as I'm concerned, that's all the proof of concept I need.

i know...if anything, the fan-made trailer actually proves that it could be done in an awesome way with a much bigger budget.

This would be the one flick that would benefit from being done motion capture Beowulf style.

This would be the one flick that would benefit from being done motion capture Beowulf style.

while i think that would be cool, i think that it may have actually hurt the movie because it wasn't one or the other. and i felt that it was wasted talent to see all those people, yet it was still looked cartoony. although the CG helped create the grand epic scale.

I heard it was gonna be straight CGI like TMNT, but that would be even cooler to see for a Thundercats film, it would look awesome.

i would do with the first one for the everyday in house costume, but in battle, either 2 or 3. i think they all should wear something like all black at home.

i know this supposed to be someone else, but i like this look for cheetara

or this, i like the dress idea, but i would add more flavor...seems kinda bland now.

i think the redesign would be only if they made an actual live action. if its gonna be something like TMNT, they should stick with the original costumes.

I would have Dennis Haysbert as the voice of Pantro.

I'll think of more later.

i wish the mods could combine these threads
