TIH Set Pics

Banner looks good; Ross is so so b/c Elliot was so damn good in the role.

Sam Elliot was good, but he didn't seem like a 'true' representation of Thunderbolt Ross to me...Maybe its because Elliot has an old world cowboy charm he brings to any role he is in, I dunno...but he was too likeable for my tastes: Ross should be a rather disagreeable @sshole and Elliot's version wasn't.

Remains to be seen how Hurt's version will be played out but he looks the part just fine.

I think the cowboy charm is what made his interpretation of Ross solid. On appearances alone I like Elliot's better than Hurt's. As far as interpretation is concerned can't make a decision till the film comes out.

Amazing avatar btw, best one I've ever seen.

I personally loved Elliot's Ross, but didnt find the character to be all that likable. As the character himself was so by the book, and commited to what his job detailed that he missed alot of experiences he could have had with his daughter which in turn, conveyed he was something of a tragic figure of sorts as one could tell that he does want a relationship with his daughter despite his seemingly long term absence. An interesting character for sure, but I'm not so sure he would be great to know personally.

From the pics, Hurt looks damn good as Ross. And even though I wouldnt have mind Elliot reprising the role, I believe Hurt will prove to be a great successor to the role. We'll certainly see.

William Hurt looks OK to me. I'm not going to completely judge his look until I see an actual production photo.

I thought Elliot looked the part, and acted the part for the most part, but maybe was a little too likable as Wobbly said and perhaps was the victim of some lines that were a bit over-the-top. Would prefer a more modern-day approach to the character myself... a guy who's impenetrable and whose thoughts we can't easily know... but I guess they were just trying to remain faithful to the comics in giving us a guy who let us know everything.

I would have no issues at all with Hurt if he'd just lose the beerbelly. Just hard for me to accept a military commander who's not exactly "lean." Acting-wise, though, I think Hurt's going to be every bit as good as, if not better than, Elliot. Check out Into the Wild for background on Hurt. He plays a domineering sort of husband and distant father figure... definitely see Ross in him.

Hurt looks decent as Ross, i'll still have to see him in action to make final judgement, but quite frankly, i couldn't care less if he's good in the part or not. He won't break or make the film for me either way; Norton/Hulk and Roth/Abomination will.........

I had no idea Tim Roth was so short

This is actually ironic! Hee! Hee! Abomination is taller than the Hulk, yet Banner (Norton) is taller than Blonsky (Roth) :woot:

I think Roth is a little bended on his legs in that picture.
Actually, he is 5' 7" for Imdb, and Norton is 6' 0½"(Leterrier 6' 4").

I really hope this movie beats everything else this summer! I'm looking forward to it the most. These pics just get me more pumped. :hyper:

Looks like Norton is running the show in the above pic, not Leterrier, LOL! :D

I think Hurt looks good playing ol' Thunderbolt Ross. Hopefully his performance will match. I saw him in The Good Sheppard, he had a descent performance in it.

Hurt will do fine. I'm sure he'll bring something new to the character. Which is always welcomed.

Hurt already reminds me of Elliot for what ever reason...

I did not find Elliot's Ross Likable...despite the ole school cowboy style. He came across as Ross should... a decent man who works for a corrupt machine, who has learned to use anger to get things done. One never got a sense that Ross was trully evil, even at worse with Zaxx in the books

bingo!

Ross isn't evil, he's just controlling and way overprotective..especially of Betty. He was more of a constant thorn in Banner/Hulk's side.
I thought Elliot captured those aspects terrifically without coming off as a bad guy. I'm hoping Hurt can do the same.

Yea he looks very active in most of the pics I see with him. Seems like he's doing a lot of directing

Him and LL are probably working together a lot in this film but Norton is one of the big attractions in this movie so most set pics are of him doing stuff not LL.

Leterrier is the director guys NOT Norton. If you look at any pics of actors with directors on set they always play things out together and make gestures, etc...How anyone can read from those pics that Norton is in charge is laughable.

Yes that is true but what I am saying is that Norton and LL probably work together in some scenes as they both thought about changes to Penn's script and then Norton rewrote it.

Norton does have quite a big input in this film, you know that.

It's nice knowing how involved Norton is with this project. Which does nothing but adds more confidence that he will prove to be a great, and memorable Banner.

Well, Norton rewrote the screenplay, so it is natural he would serve in the capacity of a consultant on set....but it's LL's film certainly.
We need a freakin trailer ASAP

Yeah Norton is hand's on for sure.

For whatever it's worth I thought Ang did a good job with Talbot as well... didn't like that he killed him..

I always kinda liked going back to the early McFarlang era late 80's stuff when Talbot somehow wound up an ali of Banner...and the Grey Hulk always tortured him

^ Yep and that goes back to the ridiculous complaining about how the Hulk is a killer? I loved the first one but that story is done. Time for a new one.

He shoots The Hulk, but is like shooting in front of a wall... if someone shoots in a wall, and the returning bullets kill him, I can't say that the wall has killed him.
