Ty Burrell Is Doc Samson

Nice find Red...send that to the front page. Very cool. Now I gotta see who the hell Ty Burrell is. LOL

Here's a good pic:

Oh snap. The guy from Dawn of the Dead 2004?? That's crazy.

What a weird choice.

In my opinion,Samson is one of those characters who a variety of people could play.I mean as long as the guy is built and has the chops to play a psychiatrist,I'm sold.

His facial features are right. The hair part is easy.

Yeah, but not everyone looks good with long hair, nor does everyone look good with lighter hair. Which, whether they make it blonde or green, Samson would have. I don't know if he will or not, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm assuming they tested him out first before hiring him. A manip wouldn't be hard for someone good at it.

Never heard of the guy. That could be a good thing..or a bad thing....

Exactly what I was thinking. Odd choice but I can see it working very well for the movie. Dark green hair works best though. Hope it is green or that he even gets his powers for that matter. He wouldn't look good blonde so I doubt they'd do that. Just another change. Doubt the length of his hair will determine his power level as well.

Haha,I just did that right now.Took like 5 mins, just wanted to see what this guy would look like.

Great choice! He has a voice that pretty much has that "Doc Samson" tone-of-voice I always heard when I read the comics.

I gotta say, I'm trying to be skeptical of this flick, but it's casting is kicking me in the balls and saying 'Shappup!"

Hmmm does anyone know whether or not he will even have the long green hair in the movie? And if he does will it be the product of a radiation experiment?

In the first draft by Edward Norton, there is no mention of a gamma Samson. He is just said to be a Psycharist(sp?). So I think that the Samson in this movie will not be exposed to gamma radiation.

Well, according to the front page, a lot has changed on the script, including since the recent leaked one.

Looks like all we've got is speculation.

Just another day on the hype. :hyper:

Yeah, I doubt it will be superhero Samson from the look of the guy they hired.

But you can bet they casted him in case of a sequel. Much in the same way Terrence Howard was cast in case of a War Machine appearance.

I wonder if they'll do the same thing for Bucky in case of a Winter Soldier appearance as well.

I dunno if they did or didn't. However, judging from Ty Burrell, who is a noticably short and scrawny guy...I'd have to say they have no intention of using him in any superhero capacity in these movies.

Frankly I would've cast this guy as the Leader to be honest.

He's...6 feet tall (well according to imdb anyway). That ain't short. He's not too scrawny either from what I've seen of him. Just average as hell. I can see him easily pulling an Ed Norton (American History X) and bulking up for the next flick if need be.

Well then the girl he was standing next to was really f***ing tall.

Anyways, bulking up is a lot harder than hollywood gives it credit for. Very few can do it. A bodybuilder, a GOOD bodybuilder looks for about a 10-15 pound gain in a year, most get about a 5-10 pound gain. Despite what Christian Bale did (who was starving himself, that created the environment for most of his weight gain) most actors aren't actors because they were great athletes in High School...and this guy doesn't appear to be an exception.

I sincerely doubt, coupled with the fact that he works on a currently airing TV show, that he will bulk up at all.
