the was awesome. i was expecting more for a first trailer but im sure we'll get more trailers with new footage soon. im just so happy the movie has finnaly been made. once again tim burton and johnny depp gave us a very grim and amazing film.

I like what I'm seeing.

Depp looks like he's created his wackiest character yet. Wonka is going to seem tame next to the Hatter, I think.

And I wouldn't really call it a Depp-centric trailer; he was just narrating so it makes sense that they'd end up showing him.

Visually, it looks like we're going to get some kind of bizarre combo of Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In my opinion, that's a fantastic colour palette to pull from.

They've got a ticket sold to me already.

Perhaps not quite as huge and minus the Oscar but its still there.

Exactly ever since seeing those first photos iv been noticing a creepy resemblance, but after that trailer its solidified.He is Obviously not as evil, but easily just as wacky. I wish depp would take that role over because after seeing him in that makeup laughing like a freak i would love to c his take on mr J.

I hate to admit it, but I agree with you. If they absolutely need The Joker back for Batman 3, then I'm tossing Depp's hat into the ring for the part.

Depp's characters are always somewhat sympathetic. It's because he's such a charismatic guy in real life. I don't know if he could do "chaotic evil".

They dont. Not while Nolan's still at the helm. Ledger gave us the perfect Joker for the Nolan Bat-films.

agreed. if ledger was alive..im sure they would have brought him back to be a part of the 3rd film. under the circumstances though..they need to just leave the joker alone.

BUT

judging from this trailer..depp would do the part justice.
