I'm not 100% sold on Johnny Depp's creepy ghost face, but Anne Hathway looks perfect. Classic Burton. I don't know what it is about that girl, but she gets me goin'.
 
So...was there a trailer with HP6 or what?
 
Hmm...why not? That was pretty much the most perfect movie to show a teaser with (popularity, demographic, genre, etc.). Oh well.
 
sadly...no trailer for this on HP6. but i honestly wasnt expecting one. it would have made my night if there was though

Not really, though Burton's film do bring in a wide range of demographics, to me Burton movie = Punk/Goth/Emo Reject.
 
Did you know that by heart or did you look up the movie[Twilight] to see when it was coming out?

I knew it was coming out in november. And that Alice in Wonderland is coming out in early March.
 
You would think an early teaser would have been released. (Like Batman Begins, TDK, or even Toy Story 3.) They were minimal but got the hype going.
 
I thought the Twilight series attracted young and teen girls

Maybe we'll get a proper trailer with ''9''.

Except Burton is none of those things. His movies are about outsiders.

Never said he was. Emos/Punks and Goths are also outsiders.

When the groups I mentioned above hear Burton is making a anew movie they're automatically interested. Look at Nightmare b4 Christmas. I love that movie but i don't have Jack Skeleton's face on everything I wear. Punks have made that movie a part of their life like I made Guns N' Roses a part of mine.

Emos/Punks/Goths are technically not outsiders because they BELONG to a group. They belong to a certain dress, music, ect. The outsiders in Tim Burton's films don't belong to anything and are outsiders to even the so called "outsiders".

It's funny.. there's any interview asking Burton about his whole Goth trend style and he goes on to say that he doesn't know what a Goth is. He just wears what he likes. He's not part of any trend but his own. His characters are simply who they are. He might like listening to The Cure but he's also a big fan of Tom Jones.

That's why I think his films appeal to a LARGE amount of people. While I agree there's an interest among those groups you mentioned, I also think that EVERYBODY at one point feels like an outsider. That's the mainstream appeal of his films. An outsider can be ANYONE.. doesn't need to be classed in a group. He's just really great at externalizing it.

Only point I was trying to make. Not that Burton is a goth or only goths like his movies. But that the majority of them are immediately interested in his next project.
 
Am I the only one who thinks that this movie isn't going to be very good? I don't know why exactly, but something about those character shots really rubbed me the wrong way. I hate, HAAATE Depp's Mad Hatter look, Anne Halfassaway's White Queen looks severely underwhelming, and I'm just sick to death of seeing Helena Bonham Carter in every damned thing Tim Burton puts out (We get it, Tim! You're porking her! Good for you!).

Hopefully the trailer (whenever we get it) will make me change my mind. But I'm worried that it'll turn out like Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.

I will never understand why a director/actor relationship across several movies is a bother to people. Unless they're churning out the same type or roles, then I don't see how it's of any consequence to the viewing experience. One-half of the duo isn't even on-screen so it's not like you're forced to watch something you've seen before.

For example, there's no difference between seeing Depp act in a Burton movie, than in another director's. Ditto for DiCaprio and Scorsese. What's the deal?

It's just another typical fanboy complaint you will hear on message boards across the internet.Much like how when it comes to casting a certain character whether it's a superhero or not fanboys will always pick who's the next hot thing. Just look at Sam Worthington, I don't know how many F'ing roles I've heard fanboys say Worthington would be great in.Basically if a director and actor/actress work great together and it's not always the same character I say bring it on. I love Burton and Depp's collaboration as well as DiCaprio and Scorsese. Carter doesn't bother me at all, I think That-Guy just doesn't think she's a good actress or just doesn't find her attractive. Other than that I don't see what the hate is all about.
