One can only hope...

Looks like Dark Shadows will be getting an IMAX release.

The Hollywood Reporter states that IMAX is scheduling super-sized theatrical presentations of both Dark Shadows and Frankenweenie.

"IMAX has a long-standing relationship with Tim Burton, whose unique artistic vision and brilliant storytelling has captured the imagination of audiences around the world," Greg Foster, chairman and president of IMAX Filmed Entertainment, said Tuesday.

Frankenweenie will be released on normal-sized and IMAX screens on October 5th, in both 2D and 3D. Dark Shadows will hit theaters on both sized screens on May 11th, but only in a 2D presentation.

I always love seeing Tim Burton's sketches leading up to what's eventually going to be in the actual movies. They always look so similar, it's great.

YESSS Delbonnel photography on IMAX without the stupid 3D muddying it all up like it did with Harry Potter. My excitement level just went way up.

I'm hoping that all these stills we've gotten recently are an indication of how close we are to some footage.

Agreed, I feel like it's actually on its way now. We should have it by the end of next week. We'd BETTER have it. :argh:

Agreed.

Honestly, would a short teaser a month or two ago have hurt them? A thirty second piece with a little Depp voice-over, some Elfman score and an official logo. That's all. Just a little something. Honestly..... :cmad:

No doubt we're getting a full length trailer. They need to really make up for what they've missed. Hopefully their makreting campaign works.

Someone posted this at the Imdb boards, it seems Burton did show something from the movie at the Paris expo, perhaps a featurette?

the lighting is amazing. i like that its so soft.

Definitely looks like Selby.

It slipped my mind for a bit that a few actors from the original show are doing cameo for the film, in that case I'm guessing it's Lara Parker who's standing beside him.

I like that we're getting pics on a daily basis now, a trailer better be not far behind.

Good God, this could end up being the most visually beautiful movie Burton's ever made. And that is saying a lot. I am loving these pics.

I like how it actually is capturing the kind of muted and subdued color palate of the show along with some of the funky lighting...except much more intentionally atmospheric and beautiful looking. It looks great.

Also, Eva Green looks amazing as a blonde. Just wow.

I'm loving the look of this movie!

Michelle looks stunning :hrt:

I love the new stills! This movie is gonna be great!

Despite this have no trailer as of yet the Pictures have actually made me want to see this movie. Course Burton and Depp I pretty much see the movie those 2 put together anyway.

this opens in may and no trailer yet? are they trying to make this fail?

i am shocked that the movie looks that good. the visuals are insane unique. this is even a bigger shock since there is no trailer. who said that they need dialoge in a 60 second trailer?
months ago they could show a short teaser with only footage and the Burton Elfman music in the background.

Depp's character is from Liverpool; has there been any talk of what accent he will be using in the movie?
