Tim Burton's Dark Shadows

For a long time I've been saying that this would be counter-programming for The Avengers. And I was 100% correct. They're premiering the trailer on Ellen. Ellen! They are totally going for the female crowd.

Did you even read the article I linked to? :whatever:

First off, it's Eva herself who says she is a natural blonde and there is a huge difference between dark blonde and light brown(I've got dark blonde hair and there is no way it could ever be mistaken for light brown). Also, she hasn't used her natural hair color in any of the films she has done, and the only place to see her with her natural hair color would be images taken of her before she was 14.

Wait, I'll help. Here's a photo of Eva as a child... she's the one in the middle(the other two are her mother Marlène Jobert and her sister). If you think that is light brown, you might need to have your eyes checked.

Wow, great job at leaping to conclusions and coming off hostile.

First, said it was my opinion. Said it probably qualifies as blonde, but that Isn't what I would call it.

Second, you were under the assumption I have never seen that photo. Well sorry, I have and the only part that looks blonde? A tiny bit of the front left because her hair is getting crushed by the sunlight. Yes, when Eva and her non-identical twin sister's hair were sun kissed to near death, it looks somewhat blonde. It is pretty obvious why you picked that photo. It is one of the few young Eva that can come close to supporting your claim.

The last one is post 1994, but that doesn't look dyed to me.

People who watched the show, any insight as to why it appears that Chloe's character is wearing a straight jacket in an asylum? Spoiler tag if necessary, but that shot really intrigued me.

Was that Chloe? I couldn't tell it was so fast. :O

They likely changed her character drastically given the age, but from my vague memory of watching it on Sci-fi reruns growing up is that Caroline Stoddard was a 20-something semi-stuck up socialite who looked down on Vicky (the main character who we still haven't seen a picture of!). After an experiment to turn Barnabas human by Julia (HBC) goes wrong, Barnabas feeds on Caroline and turns her into his slave and vampire booty call (pretty creepy when you consider she's his great-great-grandniece, or something). Eventually after returning from a time travel subplot Barnabas is cured of vampirism (for a while) and Caroline ends up in her own story as the love interest of Quentin a ghost of a werewolf....

yeah....

In the 1970s movie TCM runs every Halloween, Caroline was the "Lucy Westenra" character who is turned by Barnabas into a vampire and gets staked in the second act of the movie.

In the stills, it actually looks more like the girl playing Victoria than it does Moretz.

I'm positive it's not Chloe. So did Victoria have mental health issues in the show?

Nope. If anything, she was the sanest character on the show and never wound up going insane either. I'm even more curious to see how this movie plays out now.

Yeah it's not Chloe. But yay! Can't wait for the trailer!

IMD has a younger victoria on the cast list.So maybe Vicky's backstory has her In Mental hospitial before becoming the Collins family governorness.

Isn't Heathcote also playing one of Barnabas's former loves? Perhaps that is where the straitjacket stuff comes in.

I wasn't trying to sound hostile... just sarcastic(I still think you might need your eyes checked though :oldrazz: ). My apologies if I came off that way. I honestly picked the first photo I found. As for the picture in 1994, she was still 14 until July of 95(and she apparently picked blue for her first dye job).

Trust me on this, when any woman with THAT hair color says she is a dark blonde... it would be extremely unwise to suggest otherwise(speaking from experience on this). We really should drop all this crap about hair color though... the two of us are getting dangerously close to having our "man cards" revoked.

True, but when they went back to the 1790s, she was persecuted for talking about the future, vampires, witches, etc. and was called a witch and put on trial. Perhaps, they're doing the 20th century equivalent when she starts bringing up similar issues in the movie.

^That would be pretty interesting to see, actually. Since they're essentially using Vicky Winters instead of Maggie Evans as Barnabas' new incarnation of Josette, the whole thing could take some kind of toll on Vicky's mind, kinda like how Maggie got amnesia. Again, we'll just have to wait and see!

First Ellen and now Once Upon a Time. I don't think WB is expecting men to go watch this movie.

Well I will be there.

Also, history tells us if you get the women you automatically get their men.

Why not? Date nights still happen even when the Avengers come out. :)

By the way, the sneak peek and recent pics confirms the original trailer reports. Mainly Eva Green's.... bits. :hrt:

Well all I can say is it's about damn time were getting a trailer. Just by those 3 sec clips it looks pretty interesting can't wait to see the whole trailer.

Yeah, but so soon after the Avengers?

A) Not all men are rabid superhero fans that will see a movie multiple times. For the vast majority, one time is enough.
B) "My turn to pick" is a real phenomenom. What better time to place an option for females than after a week when they're likely getting dragged to a male skewing movie.
C) Despite the initial marketing, men like Burton and Depp too.
