Deadpool 2 Tim Miller exits Deadpool 2

Exactly. Which is why I'm not really anticipating Deadpool 2 without Tim Miller at the helm.

Me too. It's definitely killed a lot of my anticipation. Beyond frustrated.

God, so much whining.

I wonder what "stylized" sequel is supposed to mean, exactly? These days, every time I read the word "style" I think of Zack Snyder :funny:

pretty much all that is described is tim wanted a more stylized sequel and now people are acting like he was shaping the sequel in very non safe manner and pushing the boundaries

way too much assumptions going on here

Or simply common sense, and the fact that that's exactly what shines through the reports so far.

The issue is we don't know the context of it. It could be good or bad. And we won't really know.

(looks at recent history of letting a one time director experiment with a big tentpole)

Gee, I wonder why Fox and Reynolds may be a bit hesitant to let Miller experiment in his SECOND movie.

Very disappointing news. Deadpool was a huge success, he's missing out on a good payday here. It must have been ugly.

Also, I can't find Reynolds tweet about the climax scene. Did he delete it?

Seems like Tim may have wanted to push the sequel into new territories while Ryan wanted to do what worked in the first film and emphasize the comedy in the sequel....Basically play it safe vs take more risk with what worked.

Yeah, and I was always weary of that tbh.

Reynolds better be careful tbh before that head of his becomes too inflated.

Yes.

If this is a reference to Trank, I'm not seeing how that's applicable here.

It's not in any way applicable but some people must pretend that the director is evil now and contributed nothing towards the film. It was all Ryan Reynolds, all of it!

Uh...this one time director made his directorial debut with a big tentpole which exceeded expectations.

Such a shame to read this news!:(

Tim Miller was a big reason why the movie turned out to be the massive success it was. As a first time director he was able to craft a very entertaining action movie on a tight budget.

But by the looks of it, he and Reynolds had very different ideas about the casting and story focus. It's unfortunate that they couldn't find common ground on those issues.

It would have been nice if Reynolds (who isn't a prolific producer) would have had a little more faith in Miller's creative choices.

BTW...it's Ryan Reynold's birthday today (Oct.23)!

It was only a smart part of his contribution, but it's going to be lots of fun to see people complain about how it's possible that the VFX are worse, even with a bigger budget.

Tim Miller's expertise allowed him to make sure that the effects would be top notch even on a small budget. They started editing the movie while filming, so that by the start of post-production, Miller would have a good idea of what Colossus shots he needed exactly, so he wouldn't waste any time of tinkering with stuff half-through, and could instead focus on perfecting the effects.

And lots of companies and artists actually bent over backwards to get work done on Deadpool, just because Tim Miller is such a well-liked and respected guy in the industry.

And let's not forget that Miller is a HUGE comic book buff, so he knows Deadpool and his world as much as (if not better) than Ryan Reynolds and the writers.

Don't expect another director to put in as much love for details as Miller.

This sounds like Reynolds is having a major 'Kevin Costner moment' here.

I vote Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) as my first choice for new directors

If not then
Edgar Wright or James Gunn as new director

Well, crap. I was not Deadpool's biggest fan but I'm willing to bet that Miller contributed to a lot of the stuff that I thought did work about the movie (well duh, he was the director). And based on that TheWrap article, it sounds like he was the one on the right track with the sequel... but we'll see.

Who on here is saying Tim Miller is evil?

Thanks Abudefduf . So if Deadpool was such a success with their conflict looming, what more should part 2 become if there is no conflict?

Ryan Reynolds needs to stand down.

Tim Millers don't grow on trees and Reynolds is an actor not a director.

Fox has made how many superhero movies?

How many are good as Deadpool?

Tim Miller knew what hell he was doing.

Kyle Chandler is an awful choice for Cable but Tim Miller is not a fluke.

He's the real deal.

I wonder what this will mean for the budget of Deadpool 2. For $58 Million, the first one only looked as good as it did because of Miller.
