Deadpool 2 Tim Miller exits Deadpool 2

Extremely worried for the movie now, but I'll see if Cable and Domino casting choices can recover my faith.

Now to be honest, I'm not sure I was ever big on Kyle Chandler as Cable. I could be wrong, but I just never saw it.

Sometimes I think Chandler gets overrated because of Friday Night Lights and Hollywood was always trying to turn that cast into the next big stars, and it didn't happen.

I was very curious on how they would handle him in the role, but I can see the choice being divisive.

Far more interesting casting then a majority of fanboy choices.

I'm not sad about Kyle Chandler not playing Cable. It's fine. I mean it was a neat idea and I supported it but I'm not like sobbing about it not happening.

I'm open to other suggestions. I just hope it's not Dwayne Johnson, at least...

I know it's cliche to say this but Stephen Lang is perfect for Cable.

There's no reason to overthink this when someone born to play Cable is petitioning for the role.

Stephen Lang is too old. Also, according to some, they want a star. I don't think Stephen Lang has much star power.

If they are looking for a star I don't see why they would chose Lang.

We're casting Cable in the "C'est La Vie Tim Miller" thread :hehe:

Stephen Lang is too old.

Dude is in great shape. Just saw him in Don't Breathe. He's ripped. Moved around just fine.

Cliche choice. I wouldnt be mad if he got it. I dont really have a top choice.

When in the world did they try and turn him into a big star?

There are no "stars" i can think of that would make a good Cable in terms of look. But you know Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Nathan Fillion, or Idris Elba would be good

Maybe he's in great shape. But people want Lang as Cable and MEW as Domino. Right. Perfect couple. I'm sorry, but I just can't see it.

He is definitely a force to be reckoned with in Don't Breathe.

That is true I didn't think of that.

But I still can't think of anyone

If they want a star, then it's Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, George Clooney or whatever - but they're really hard to sign up for this stuff. Not to mention salaries...

ANd there's still a huge age gap between any potential Domino.
And no way in hell they get any of them.

I think people are fan casting Stephen Lang because he has some geek cred because of Avatar, he has Cable's silver fox short hair, and he's played a hard ass military type guy before in Avatar.

Just FYI, if they were to cast Liam Neeson, he's 64 years old now.

Well, I think, there's some chance to get Matt Damon. Also, it's not really a number that matters, but how they look. Stephen Lang looks his age. He's too old for mid. 30 actresses. George Clooney maybe too. But Brad Pitt and Matt Damon look fine.

I think we need to cast unknows or lesser known actors. Chandler did fit that role. Otherwise I wont see Cable or Domino. I'll see Lang and whoever. Whoever they do get those need to be good actors cause they will play important roles in future X-men movies. And we know damn well how important it is for X-men movies to get characters right.

Unknowns are unlikely at this point. I liked the idea of Davis as Neena.

Not that it confirms anything but Reynolds started following MEW and Ruby Rose around the casting reports.

I'm cool with whomever they think screen tests the best. Baccarin was excellent casting and was paired nicely with Reynolds.

i never liked the kyle chandler choice he was not even an out of the box choice for me he was just bad casting

i think he is a great actor love him in bloodline but he is all wrong for cable

That's what a veteran filmmaker is...so...

How? A veteran is someone with a long experience in a given field. Nolan only made three movies and had been working for seven years. That would be long for an athlete. Not a filmmaker. Back in 2005 he was still considered a relatively 'new' filmmaker.

He'd already been nominated for an Academy Award. He was hardly some wet behind the ears rookie on his second film. Batman Begins was his fourth feature.
