I doubt DC's streaming service lasts long, unless the price stays around the $3 a month range.

There's limit on how many "exclusive" streaming services people will keep. Netflix was the first and still the biggest (I think?), and Amazon comes with all the other Amazon perks (like 2-day shipping). HBO Go is doing fine, but I bet there'll be a steep drop in subscribers when GoT is over.

DC just doesn't have much to offer, unless they bundle it with some digital comic access. Then it might tempt me, but I prefer my comics to be tangible.

That's an interesting idea. I've also wondered how they come up with enough content to justify the cost. Clearly it won't be tons of new programming right out of the gate. Will they make previous DC animated series available? Previous films? I'm onboard I think as long as Titans is a level up (or more comic faithful) from/than, say, the CW DC shows.

I think that's the intent--to have all the old animated shows available as well. But still...DC has a very limited library compared to other streaming services, even if you take all the old stuff into account.

even if the DC service is only $3 or $5 a month, I'm still not paying that subscription to just watch one show ( Titans ).

That's why I'm hoping there will be a free tier where you can watch the show on their site a day later ( or even a week later ).

otherwise, I'll just seek out alternative video streaming sites where I'm sure the eps will pop up. though, I'd prefer to watch directly from DC for the best quality and less hassle. but I'm not paying for that service, though.

Plus, who even knows what movies and current shows they'll put on the service. The licenses that put these shows/movies on other services like Netflix probably won't expire for another few years. By the time they do, and go to this "exclusive" service, I bet the service will be dead.

Yeah I'm REALLY not a fan of the fact that EVERY studio is now trying to jump into the streaming game. It's gonna get beyond confusing. Disney is starting theirs, apparently DC is starting one. How many more are gonna pop up, and who the hell is gonna be able to afford ALL these services?!

Well Netflix currently has about 15,000 titles to stream. Amazon Prime says it has 17,000. So yeah, I'm sticking with 71 being "not significant." Even when you add the movies in.

I bet the only people that would even consider subscribing are the type of folks that are on the Hype--the people with a very targeted interest in comics/DC. Which is way too small of a market for the service to stay viable long-term.

It's just that the market is becoming way too saturated with streaming sites. Disney is going to run into the same problem with their new streaming service--even though I think they'll last longer since they have lots of children's programming from their owned cable channels to include.

I'm probably not likely to subscribe, but I'd consider it if I have free weekends to binge this show (after it's released in its entirety) along with all the Bruce Timm shows. Then I'd cancel it after I finish.

I think its less a matter of "too few" as "too narrow". To make a viable streaming service, you need breadth of content. If the only thing a service provides is DC TV shows, the only people who'll sign up are hardcore DC fans.

Now, if they put the majority of WB-owned content up on it, including all their TV shows of all types, *then* we'd be talking. Though I suspect they still wouldn't end up succeeding, ultimately, as the market probably won't support a whole bunch of studio/network specific services.

Here is my version of a Titans show on the CW. Since we already have some of the members already, as well as, villains then it should work out. I tried to focus on the main five, such as Nightwing, Arsenal, Mon-El (Superboy), Miss Martian, and Kid Flash. I also tried to include some past villains from the shows, comic series, and the Teen Titans animated show. If you're a MAJOR fan of the Teen Titans then you should recognize some of the characters in the trailer. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy!

my only "issue" is his age. He's 22 and Raven actress is only, what, 13 or 14?

so I guess that nixes any possible Raven/BB romance, which I wanted to see.

Based on the rest of the casting choices, perhaps they should have cast an older actress for Raven.

but man, she really is the baby of the group........lol.
