it's really not that they "came to their senses". this was always supposed to be a new trilogy and from interviews that i read, it seemed like the plan was always to have him start out in the first one and gravitate towards the more traditional costume. they wanted the first one to kind of steer clear from the raimi and bring in new fans and then once they were hooked, go back to the original. the comic book fans were going to see the movie regardless. but i digress, this isn't the spiderman forum lol
The ASM 2 doesn't seem like a natural progression of the suit of ASM 1. It feels like a leap in design, not a step. Which is why it seems like they've abandoned their original design, instead of building on it. Not that I'm complaining when the suit looks so good.

^ Good point. Besides, this isn't the MOS costume forum anyway. [YT]aW4DhzrX2XA[/YT]

Yet another example of why they should just let Henry style his own hair for the inevitable sequel...

we really have no clue how or if they even explain the suit change so we really can't comment on it being a "natural progression". anyways. back to superman. i'm all for a suit change. personally, i like the new superman comic design minus the collar. something akin to this:

I dunno. To me, his hair there doesn't look very different from the slicked back Superman look he has in Man of Steel. I think there is an overuse of product in both appearances. Also, I don't know if you can trust Henry's own stylists. He rocked a rather weird poofy up-do at a lot of public appearances over the winter.

For some reason, this one is somewhat better than the last two.

I think the MOS poster is better than those 2 by far...you folks are nuts if you think that crap is better

And that's just sad. Not these posters but the fact that MOS which is supposed to be a blasted reboot has the same style posters only not as good! Sheesh!

I think that the "pose" or "scene" what ever is more a sort of trademark. It's quite recognizable for people I think.

And the MOS one is definetly better then the SR ones.

I don't understand what's up at WB..just look at the Walmart marketing posters and banners..all those with superman poses..was that difficult to put Superman on a poster like that without blur, grain, and lens flare? And then..a poster with him, with his feet on the ground, hand to hand with Zod? A fight between heat visions? A badass poster, an eye catching one? no, too difficult..

And then, I don't really know now what are the "main" posters..At this point I really prefer the handcuff's one..And the best we had was the banner with his cape floating..

They use posters like this for a movie guide book..Am I mad to point this out WB??

I'm pretty sure WB is involved with the Wal-Mart marketing...and with that being said since Wal-Mart is one of the main backers of promoting this movie I believe that they are putting the majority of their hard work into the Wal-Mart campaign

Yeah and with the international marketing? Walmart doesn't exist outside..I think that they had to put more efforts with the posters for the movie internationally..

Wal-Mart doesn't exist outside of what??? The United States??? Are you kidding???? Yes it does....

Ummm, Walmart is a huge multinational corporation. It is not just restricted to the United States. It owns Asda in the UK and has successful operations in South America and China. That being said, you are right that it has not penetrated all nations of the globe equally. Its presence in continental Europe is rather weak.

Is that the biggest selling factor for the movie outside the USA? I don't think so..The posters, the official ones, will be in every Subway, on every bus, will be outside the buildings, they'll be everywhere..You cannot give the good ones for Walmart and poor and unispiring ones to cover the rest of the world..

Wait till the Wal-Mart promo really kickstarts on May 18th...I think that's when you will see some really awesome posters coming out especially from Wal-Mart. And who knows, maybe Wal-Mart will be the biggest selling factor starting in the next few days. I can't say one way or another but everyone I've talked to at Wal-Mart tells me that their promotion is going to be HUGE!

i actually think the WB/Wal-Mart marketing campaign might turn out to be a stroke of genius .. all those millions of WM customers being exposed to merchandise & MoS trailers (#3) playing all the time on large TV screens .. time will tell
