One things for sure. They have more than enough time to get the FX right.

I dunno, but Snyder used Sony Imageworks for Watchmen with wonderful results.

Is Nolan going to have any part in the post-production process?

no one here knows for sure, but i am hoping and i think it is only logical. also, gillberg who is a solid insider said that his involvement post batman was another motivating factor to push the release date back. they know this is their last shot with superman, they arent putting anything to chance

Yeah because I was going to say Nolan is one of the few directors that knows how to handle CGI properly without overdoing it and making it look cartoonish so if he is involved that is definitely a good sign.

Seriously!
When I look at these two pics, I can't stop to think how much they resemble the pics from the set of "Batman Begins". Remember? The ones of Christian bale, walking down the staircase, with the mansion in the background. The ones where he's holding rope in his hands... Then I think of Nolan, and then I look at Cavill in these pics! Knowing that Nolan has been over this movie like a beautiful cloud, and helped Snyder make the decision of casting Henry in the part of the worlds greatest superhero, I just realized.... This movie is gonna ROCK SO ****ING HARD!!!! :woot:

I don't like Sony but they are the ones most likely to do it.
It's looking that way.

Its ILM or nothing for me. Those guys are the kings.
If they could squeeze TMOS in their already busy schedule.

Double Negative are pretty awesome as are Weta Digital.
Absolutely!

What company did Sucker Punch?
Snyder's favourite Animal Logic was the main vfx house.

Seeing Henry as Clark Kent has been a treat. But I'm still keeping my expectations very low. SR ruined any hype I have for future Superman film projects. Still excited, but still remaining cautious.

i have been lurking around here for a long time, but after seeing the new costume from the front i just had to air my views.

i was looking forward to seeing this new reboot.

but the costume has failed. and failed badly.

its sad that a lot of people are having to bow down to peer pressure in saying that the changes are acceptable, when in reality most people are secretly whincing inside at these changes.

its an epic fail beyond what Bryan Singer achieved.

to that, I must give an award to Synder and WB for both bringing Superman into the age of failure.

the new costume fails to pass the "blur" test, where the primary colours of red, yellow and blue should be clearly distinct.

this costume fails badly!

The one without the trunks looks like he's wearing some walmart pajamas, while the classic version instantly shows its Superman.

I had faith in Snyder, but he's failed everyone.

nope this is 2011 and a man running around in an outfit like that is already goofy, but to add external underwear? that just is barf worthy so GO SNYDER 100%

But Superman Returns had a bland actor as Superman (who actually many liked more than Henry Cavill even though I and a lot of others had been talking about Henry Cavill as Superman since then) and a director that is more suited for other projects. The writing was awful and the action was mediocre. A Superman who lifts things. Amazing. He arrives, lifts a car, a helicopter, a sign, a lake, rockets, elevators, more cars, a boat, an island, etc. Yeah, he can lift stuff. They just got some people who wanted to make a sequel between Superman II and III. I guess it should have been called "Superman 2.5 Ignores III and IV." This movie should be a lot better because it is supposed to be action heavy and from a director that does not seem to like camp at all. In fact, he seems to treat the comic book heroes in a very reverent way. His tone is very solemn, I like that.

what about the CGI batpod shot?you could say that when he used CGI for a close up shot it looked fake.

i am mean :oldrazz:

Is that Kal-Mart's manip?

I know it will be different, but it remains to be seen if it's a GOOD different. Just saying, I don't want to get my hopes up and take that risk again. I know it sounds silly, especially since I'm on a site called SuperheroHYPE, but I'm just being cautious. :yay:

I just received an email while I was looking at this thread from Sideshow collectibles. It is for a new Hot Toys Batman 89 figure. Looking at what is essentially a trunkless look, it works (imo) because the belt is so chunky and detailed and it serves to seperate the torso from the legs. Hopefully in close up we'll see the belt on Henry's costume is more prominent than that grainy picture reveals so that it achieves the same effect. Certainly the buckle is prominent, judging by the one official picture Snyder/WB's has released so far.

Btw. This is an awesome batman figure.:yay:

Or the scene towards the end of Inception when they find Cillian Murphy's character; the green screen work is obvious.

I think what helps the movie Batman costumes is the black body suit and the fact that the suit already has details such as the cowl and scalloped gloves to make up for the lack of trunks.

And from the picture of Henry Cavill sitting behind the black curtain it appears that the belt has a criss-cross pattern and not the one we are seeing in manips that looks like the string of a thong pulled up high and another thong that sits lower on the waist.

Yeah you could be right, as the Batman costume seems to lend itself more readily to lots of detailing, as it is more about function than pure visuals.
I still think a chunkier belt something like DC's new version would help prevent Henry's costume from (as some have described it) looking like a big blue condom lol!. I'll will reserve judgement however, until I see a much better picture as the stuff on his thighs and above his waist might help quite a bit to balance everything out.

Well to be honest that picture also makes it appear like he has light blue iridescent trunks on, and we know that isn't the case, so I wouldn't read much into how the belt looks from another crappy picture taken outside the Kent farmhouse. Did anyone do a really big enlargement of the pictures where Superman is about to face off with Faora and the guy with a stick on his head?

Whatever it takes to ensure we never get another Supes!Has!A!Son! plot. :woot:

I saw a couple but it looks like just a picture that was zoomed in on. Maybe a print-screen of holding down the Ctrl button and scrolling up with the scroll wheel of the mouse. I have not seen a good zoomed in photo from those. I guess it is probably impossible because it looks like pictures taken from at least 50-60 feet away with a cellphone of all things.

Please no Sony, some of the effects in Green Lantern were really shoddy. Although they were rushed but still.

I also hope that it's not Sony Imageworks. Even though it's a pipe-dream, I'm hoping for either ILM or WETA Digital.
