Just curious... what do you think the odds are that the mo-cap guy is Doomsday?

It seems a little unlikely, but well, Doomsday was created on Krypton, and the mo-cap guy is wearing something on his head that supposedly is the focal point where the other actors are supposed to look when they look at him, which indicates that the CGI creation will be much taller than the actor.

Doomsday is pretty much just a mindless brute, so he could make good "ultimate henchman" type of villain. And I know he'll forever be tied to the death of Superman, but just because he's there doesn't mean they'll go the death route.

Just some food for thought. I highly doubt that we'll see Zod or any actual actors in CGI suits (a la Green Lantern), because when Snyder was asked if Superman would wear a CGI costume, he made a remark about how that wouldn't make sense. And if he has that attitude about the Superman suit, my guess is, he'd have that opinion about other Kryptionian characters.

Thus it would appear that mo-cap man will actually be some sort of monster or other all-CGI creation.

It wouldn't look cool if they were restricted to the area. But we are talking about super-powered beings who can fly and have super strength. For all we know Zod grabbed Superman by the cape in Metropolis and flung him to Smallville.

Superman shouldn't be following the herd and only having fights in cities. But that's beside the point, this is the beginning of the shoot, just because there's a fight in Smallville, it doesn't mean there won't be fighting anywhere else.

The fight should definitely span several locations, I wanna see Superman and Zod pummeling each other while globe trotting.Probably won't be that extreme but would be fun to see.

Yeah, that would be cool. I just love some big city destruction. Something like the Jax-Ur/Mala vs. Superman fight from STAS, for example, or any Supes fight from the comics.

I'd actually prefer a fight that doesnt go down in the middle of Metropolis. Mainly because climactic battles usually always are located down town, but also because I'd like to see Superman trying to take the fight away from the city and the people. That never made sense in Superman II. If he cares so much about the earthlings, take the fight elsewhere.

I'm sure they can find an equally spectacular back drop than the typical city-streets of whatever city they're in.
The Avengers are already doing it downtown N.Y. like countless other action-movies.

Smallville, the Kent-farm and the surrounding countryside sounds good to me. Then add a fight in the middle of Tornado Valley. I dunno, just show me something new.

My exact thoughts while reading some of the most ignorant comments I think I have ever come accross on any forum ever!


Filming don't end until April, there is still a TON of filming to be done in the big cities. Infact, when you look at the shooting schedule, there is far more shooting in the big cities then in these rural areas.


I find it amazing that we are already getting some major fighting going on so early in production, and in Smallville at that! Any true Superman fan should be giddy right now at what were looking at being done.
