A reflection off of his suit. It's just a piece of his suit--same material--only raised or thicker.

Its more reflective because sun is directly to it.

In official picture, the light is controlled as they want.

Its the same material in both pictures. Just a different texture from the rest of the costume.

The suit looks awful in those set pics. Just awful. Like a movie version of Dean Cain's outfit. The colors are dreary and the shield looks lopsided. But at least his cape is nice and bright.

Though I will say that Cavill appears to have some nice poise in the suit. I like how he holds his head high in that one photo.

That's not armor. You wouldn't put armor just on the wrist and thighs. It's just a design element.

It is just design to make the arms look more interesting and break up the patterned design.

do you wear shorts over your pants so you don`t look/feel naked? shorts over pants look silly ^^ it works in a comic book but not on a real person. ( in my opinion)

The fact is for me after looking at Supes that way for years, he looks nude without them. Just my opinion. Honestly, I think there's more things wrong with it but that's number one. I liked the Returns costume ok. It was the script that needed work there....

I think the Nick Cage suit is looking better every day. Hopefully the script and general package will be so good the costume wont matter. Whoever is designing costumes for DC movies lately ought to be slapped.....
