Let's be honest, it's not going to be a name. Probably someone who's already worked with them.

I know it’s a cliche to always suggest the “it” thing but what about One Piece’s Steven maeda for a director?

- he obviously loves geeky stuff
- he’s great with promoting a diverse cast
- he knows how to world build and marvel love their tv talent
- he knows how to do the small character driven moments as much as the big epic action set pieces

He's not a director, though. He's a writer/producer. Were you happy with Kinsberg getting an X-film as his first directing gig?

I mean that’s comparing apples with oranges but I think he deserves a shot. Lots of directors start as producers

Is it? It is no different than Kurtzman or Kinberg or I'm sure a bunch of others whose names have drifted off. He hasn't even directed an episode of his own show. And yet, you want to give him his first shot at directing on a big budget blockbuster? It makes no sense.

Alfonso Cauron would be my pick. Though obviously won't happen. I picked him because Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the best Harry Potter films. Gravity also had some amazing visuals.

It gives you a great indication of what kind of director Fiege is looking for.

Jeff Sneider mentioned this in his live stream yesterday. He also said a few weeks ago that Marvel would likely get a big-time director.

How about Ava DuVernay? Feige was interested in her for Black Panther and this could be her key out of director jail.

I'm sure many black women are lining up after how they treated Nia DaCosta.

Jordan Peele won't have all his time developing X-Men movies and then be supervised by Feige, Marvel Studios and Disney and have his movies be part of a larger movieverse that he had no input in the past. It is highly unrealistic. I'm surprised that Marvel Studios even approached him. I'm also not sure if he's into directing action/superhero films in the first place. So a weird choice imo.

If the long term goal for the X-Men, is for them to headline several films, at least a trilogy, they should look out for a director that could work on a trilogy and dedicate all their time on simply making X-Men movies.

What about Stefon Bristol? He’s a Spike Lee protege and See You Yesterday sort of gives x-men vibes without him being too high profile

David Leitch of Fall Guy, Bullet Train, Deadpool 2 fame. And obviously, the 1st John Wick.

If we are going to bring back Deadpool directors to helm X-Men, I think Tim Miller would be a better choice.

First time I'm finding out people don't like Leitch. I pretty much love all his movies apart from Atomic Blonde. Any reason for the dislike?

I think its a good pick.

Probably the biggest name Marvel could get outside of Raimi with the way the studio is set up currently. If you could get Leitch to sign on, it's a win in my book.

I like Miller better because he seems more of a fan (he was developing a Kitty Pryde solo movie briefly, before the merger with Disney). And he directed the first Deadpool movie which is better than the second one in my opinion.

I would have no complaints with Miller. Like you said, he's a fan of the comics and made an important impact in the genre as well. Much more important to Disney/Marvel in 2024 than anyone realized at that time.

He hasn't really built on what he did with Deadpool though, therefore he doesn't have the same kind of momentum Leitch has.

I want someone who haven't directed any FoX-Men movie. So I'd say no to Matthew Vaughn, Tim Miller and David Leitch. I also don't want the director of D&W to handle it.

Someone new should be the way to go.

I’m blown away by that suggestion lol.

It’s funny I actually have always said Minari is good inspo for an x-men film
