Its definitely not my favorite design out of the new batch and I can definitely understand you hardercore fans problem with it. It doesnt exactly scream Starscream, does it? But I'm willing to wait til I see an officially final design in all its CGI glory before I say I hate it. I actually DO like the design for a jet transformer but would've prefered something less BRUTE FORCE and more slimeball backstabbing snake for Starscream. But if what we saw is what we'll be getting it then so be it. I'll just be like 'ehh decent movie but they could've done Starscream better'. But I usually have those type of complaints with every movie based on things I loved as a child, even the movies I enjoy.

Didn't they say that Starscream, and Megatron would look more closer to their G1 counter parts when the movie came out? Or is this the TF team trying to put the fire out?

ic most ppl on here are tf fans, but xw and v4, you 2 don't even seem to like the francise and bash it with every chance you get. i'm not trying to insult here but just curious, are you tf fans? are you familar with the shows that created most of the tf mythos, such as g1 and beast wars? everything post beast wars is utter crap except for cybertron which has renewed my interest in the tf cartoons. but did you ever collect any of the toys or comics? or is everything you know just from the info thats leaked about the movie? i'm a tf fan and always have been, as for most of the ppl on this bored so i'm just curious.

no... im not a die hard fan.

i did have a toy or two and i do like cybertron,but never cared about the TF.

but i do see potential in this movie like spielberg...... and i do LOVE what i see so far.

alright, thanks. i fall on the die hard side, the side that had every tf toy that was ever put out, for g2 (the repaints, they're all gone now tho) i also have the first 2 seasons on dvd and do watch them as well as the entire beast wars series, and i do love the comics, mostly furmans, hes a great writer. and my interest in the toys was just renewed with the diecast toys of the war within designs and the alternators, which sadly are discontinued now.

i'm just saying all this just to let know you know where i come from with everything, as do most ppl on this bored do. i think most of us are on here cuz we are die hard tf fans, or atleast tf fans in general that have a fondness for the franchise.

You know it. Best Optimus Prime toy ever made. I'm eagerly awaiting my Masterpiece Starscream to arrive in the mail. I'm really hoping the next Masterpiece is Megatron...most likely not in gun form but I'm eagerly awaiting that too.

oh...and you'll get used to xwolverine2's dogging on anything pre-Bayformers.

AND nothing against bay, i actually like his movies, but as a tf fan, i would have loved to see this movie be made by someone who atleast had the same fondness for the tf as most of tf fans do. but instead we get a guy who didn't even want to make the movie and really doesn't care about the franchise. i wouldn't mind changes so much as i do as long as it was from someone who actually WANTED to make this movie in the first place, like how peter jackson WANTED to make lotr and king kong. someone like that.

Agreed MP-01/04 Convoy/Prime is indeed the best Optimus toy ever made and more than likely to ever be made. I still need to order my MP-03 Starscream...I was reading coverage of the Botcon and Hasbro hinted that they may bring that mold over here in his G1 colors that would be nice. I'm also tempted to order the MP-04 Convoy/Prime just so I can get the trailer. t:

I have the diecast Optimus and Megatron. They are small figures but are pretty hefty being diecast and all. As far as the classics...I'm going broke collecting the Masterpiece and Alternator/Binaltech series. I'll have to wait on the classics (though I'll probably wind up picking a couple of them up anyway, its like crack I tellya).

so far the only diecast i don't have is jetfire and i must say thunder cracker is the most badass piece of diecast i have ever seen, every problem that optimus and megatron have, have been compelety fixed with thundercracker, the figure blows me away. i too also heard on tf wire that they were talking about bring mp starscream over here with his colors, and also might have a cape and crown.

o, and to xw, speilburg is my fav film maker and i was really really excited about this movie, still am, but not as much when i heard how much was being changed, and its not just bay, its also the writers as well, but i'll hold my full judgement untill the movie comes out.

I would love to see them actually make a MP Megatron as a gun. Did you ever see the scratch built MP Megatron over at http://www.marksprojects.com/ that turned out really great.

Also I wouldn't mind seeing them make a War Within Megatron like the one Tfmaster built.

Hasbro also mentioned that they would like to see a MP Grimlock in the future. Now I would so love to have a MP Grimlock t:

Yeah, I've seen the one over at marksprojects.com. It is very decent considering its fan made. With Takara designing it I'm sure it could even be more streamlined.

All this Megatron stuff makes me sad that his true personality will not shine in this movie. You won't see stuff like this:

There have been several interpretations of his character; some see Megatron as a strategic leader who calls the shots from afar, whilst others see Megatron as a tactical battlefield commander who leads by brutal example. Unlike many other villains in popular fiction, Megatron was not generally depicted as overly chaotic or insane. He was highly aggressive and megalomaniacal, but there was usually a consistent rationale behind his actions, albeit that Megatron was often the only one who could perceive this.

There have been some sparing occasions where Megatron displays a personal sense of fair play and even honor, a complexity that is most evident in his complicated relationship with Optimus Prime. There is an unspoken mutual respect between the two leaders, born of each knowing the other better than anyone else. Megatron at times seems to derive enjoyment from the perpetual conflict that exists between them - the pleasure of ending the life of Optimus Prime will be Megatron's and Megatron's alone, and to ensure this, he has aided Prime in the face of greater threats, such as the Combaticons or Jhiaxus's second generation Cybertronians. In instances such as these, the two have come to face the fact that were it not for their diametrically opposed ideology and views, in another life, the two could be comrades - a fact that Optimus Prime views as a tragedy, but which provides Megatron with amusement.

Oh, and a Masterpiece Grimlock? How can they improve on the classics version...that one's pretty much perfect in my book. Then again, differences in classics SS compared to Masterpiece SS are drastic.

actually thier making a war within megatron for the diecast line, as well as starscream and the fallen from war within. rodimus prime, soundwave, and scrouge will also be in the diecast line.

I read on another forum that someone was pointing out that there are slots/taps on the head and shoulds of MP-03 SS that serve no perpose unless that they plan to re-release another version with a crown and cape. I would for them to do that t:
