WTF?!?!

What are you doing Marvel have you lost your mind? And people really still think they are going to cast this thing right, when they seem to just be desperate to cast anyone as long as they're teenagers :/
The boy hasn't got any acting experience at all. They seriously wanted him over Chandler Riggs who's on the same show as the father? :wow:

Even the Isaac haters must admit that he would be a better choice than the unknown son of an actor :cwink:

I think it's a good thing they have cast the net far and wide. That means they are open to all possibilities rather than going with a 'name'.
With that said, I think this late in the day, I do think it is down to Tom and Asa.

I'm going to assume from the poll result that both of them are equally suitable for the role.
I will have zero complaints on who Marvel will choose. :)

I just went to vote in the poll. My gut is telling me Asa, but I don't know enough about Tom to write him off. I decide not to vote and to maybe trust in my SHH brethren and be informed by the current results.

And it's tied 50/50.

I voted for Asa, but it was more of a sympathy vote than anything else. I quite like both him and Tom. Either one would kill it as Peter/Spider-Man, though they'd each go about it very differently.

I voted for Asa but now I'm a little nervous he is now 6 foot tall.
You want a clear contrast of the kid and the seasoned heroes and you also want to buy that Flash and Kong would pick on a puny kid. I think if the kid were 6 foot tall the bullies would find less imposing prey.

Height is a non-issue in film. Camera angles and simple tricks can make anybody seem taller/shorter. For instance Chris Evans and Sebastian Shaw are the same height and Cap towers over Bucky in TFA. Similarly Gwenyth Paltrow towers over RDJ, but on screen his heels make up for the height difference. :)

Going as far as asking Mingus Kingus Jingus to audition shows that either

a) none from the big bunch of young real actors is good enough, how strange that may sound.

or

b) Sony/Marvel are really desperate because too few teens actors want the role. Otherwise, it would have been easy to find atleast ONE suitable guy to cast.

Watch neither Tom or Asa get cast.
Watch Isaac get cast :cwink:

Too bad not everyone shares that mindset.

Still, excellent points. :yay:

There's only so much they can do with camera angles. And if Marvel were planning to do that, then Vincent D'Onofrio should've still towered over Toby Leonard Moore. But he didn't. Moore was almost the same height as D'Onofrio, if not the same height.

Just imagine if Asa grew taller than 6ft. Let's say he became 6'2" or 6'4". Then if he did face off against Kingpin, you've got a Spider-Man who is the same height as him and taller than Daredevil. Spider-Man isn't someone who can be continually filmed from the waist up either. Being such a gymnastic type, you need to see all of him. I think Holland would be a much better fit alongside both D'Onofrio and Cox, as well as the other Avengers. You really don't want him to be as tall as Cap.

Thst article was likely bs. Or if real probably from early in auditions process. As we know right now it's likely tom or asa.

I still they've had someone casted for a while now.

How? the kid came out and said it himself.

Marvel casted a wide net and they have now narrowed it down to four actors. they asked him to audition two months ago.

Are Tom and Asa filming anything as of late?

Holland just finished filming a movie called Pilgrimage in Ireland with Jon Bernthal and Richard Armitrage, who funny enough was in Captain America: The 1st Avenger.

Good. if he's Spider-Man, then he should be flying to the USA to film Civil War.

Last I checked, Asa is still in the process of filming Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children with Eva Green and Tim Burton. Since Tom just finished working on a movie and seemingly has a free schedule right now, that might end up being a big factor.

For the record, the key word there is "might."

Ya any clue when asa due to finish Burton shoot.

I'm not sure. They started production back in late February though, so that'd be about two and a half months to three months of work so far. Asa is also the lead protagonist of the film, so he'll likely still have more filming to do for some time.

Ah ya if going by most shoots. It's likely a 4 to 5 month shoot. So he could be filming still to julyish.

But then again we still have no word how long spidey scenes for civil war are. Will actor be on set for a few days, a week, two weeks a month. But still even if his overall time is say around 10 mins of the whole film. He has to be there on minium of a few days to a week. You be surprised how long 1 to 3 mins in film is to actually shoot.

Take for example the truck chase in asm2 start that was shot in upstate ny. That whole sequence was about 5 mins on screen. It took them 2 weeks to shoot that on location.

Also where is the Burton shoot filming? Is it stateside, canada, uk.

First off, he's 5' 11". Right now, that's only one inch taller than 616 Peter.

Second, he's 18 years old. I know that everyone grows at a different pace, but it's highly unlikely that he's going to have 5 inch growth spurt at that age.

As someone who's been making movies (albeit on a very amateur level), I'm actually very well aware. :cwink:

My guess is that they'll need whoever ends up playing Spidey on set for Civil War for about a month. Somewhere between three to five weeks.

As for the filming location of Miss Peregrine, principal filming is in Florida.
