I will say though, while Anne can sing and has a good voice, her voice is not meant for Fontine. She does a great job acting it out though.

And now that it's up...I agree that Anne is a good singer but doesn't really have the voice we've come to expect for Fontine. But that's ok. Her take on the song seems moving in its own right. The acting looks wonderful so far, too.

Ann Hathaway...she just looks so gorgeous & beautiful even with that short haircut..

That scene where she is forced to cut her hair....is very emotional and touching for me... I really feel for her character....

I hope she gets an Oscar nomination for this.

Anne did not use movie magic ala One Day this time in regards to having a shorter hairstyle. I'm sure the hair cutting moment in Les Mis will be very close to her real natural reaction as a human being, not just existing as a character inside the universe of this film - making it even more authentic and poignant.
