I don't know why people hated the Punisher. Atleast it was comic accurate, somewhat.

Marvel couldve simply made it like the crappy 89' version and thrown us into it without even knowing the main character's backstory. Then again, it seems people just don't appreciate good movies anymore.....

Agreed. The only thing I didn't like about it was the flaming skull near the end, that wasn't very Punisher-like. I really LOVE the bridge scene, though. That alone is reason enough to see it.

I laughed my head off when I heard one of the critics said it was 'too violent'. Do your research, buddy, with the Punisher, there is no such thing as 'too violent'.

Can't wait for the Sequel. I just hope it doesn't go to Development Hell...

I liked everything except Travolta who was a big waste of money and screentime. Don't worry it's not going back into development hell from what I understand it's a lock to start filming within months.

AD how do you know this? I really want a sequel but whos directing, starring in it ect and whats the budget? where is it shooting? There is a real lack of official confirmation (fingers crossed)...

I hated the first film but I thought it was solid to stand on its own. I hated it because no Vietnam, overused ex cop angle, no costume. Practically the same dissapointment I got watching the first film. It makes me scream why they feel they can't make a decent story out of the ex marine walking into the park after coming home from Vietnam and witnessing his family get killed? Instead of an action film, we could get a film of GoodFellas, Carlitos Way, or Godfather quality that could be recommended for an award.
