If you look at the full picture, clark's torso is cut off just under supes shoulders. I'm guessing the transparancy is so that it's harder to notice. And it is. So it's a good piece of eye trickery.

That said, I've been wondering if those rules are still in effect. I have yet to see any knuckle cracking (here or over yonder) since POS-EL unspooled - and my temptation to respond "appropriately" rises exponentially Every. Time. I see CUPCAKE posted here.
