Tomb Raider can get along just fine without an R rating. I do not need nor want an R rated Tomb Raider film.
If it's not now I'm sure it will be soon.Is "R rating" the new "cinematic universe"?
I think you'll really enjoy it.I just bought a PS3 because I'm always a generation behind. I'm going to get the reboot soon enough.
Vikander is in the similar spot JLaw was. I'm sure a franchise would be a nice feather in her cap but I'm sure she wants to make sure it's a quality one even if she's not the lead.
Bosslogics does it again

She doesn't have to be in every script her manager or agent puts in front of her. Doesn't seem like she's a sure thing for this either.
Also it's a video game based movie. These don't exactly have the best track record. It's a reboot of a movie franchise that already basically failed. The last Tomb Raider movie bombed. Now they've been trying to get this off the ground for years with little success.
For years, the producers were trying to get Megan Fox to start in this reboot.
I played the game before it, mostly used the ax for attacks.I've watched footage of the new game. It's M rated, gritty and realistic.
Like The Avengers and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ruin the career of Sean Connery?Lara will destroy Daisy's career.
Behold, your new Lara Croft:

You make the best point and a point that I have been pondering since yesterday. The vast majority of the time when an actor breaks out in an action film I'd like to see them take on a project that is about performances without distractions from explosions and CGI, I like to see what that actor is really made of.I think Ridley would be good in the role (having only seen her in Star Wars)...but I think the movie would be a bad move for her. I mean...if it were to be a big hit, then it would be a good idea...its never bad to have a bunch of hits under your belt. I just feel like she should take on an ACTING project...something that will round her out a bit. And I don't believe that this movie is likely to be a major blockbuster anyway.

No doubt it would be smarter for a chance of career longevity to go after a couple of prestige films. Those probably should be at the top of her list.Look at it this way...
Daisy Ridley has done one movie...where she played a young woman who explores dangerous areas to get prized artifacts.
Her 2nd project might be Tomb Raider...a movie about a young woman who...uh...explores dangerous areas to get prized artifacts.
If the movie is not successful, then she will have established herself as Rey...and characters like Rey...but she can't carry a film without the Star Wars name. I don't feel that it's worth the risk. She should direct her agent to find out what roles Alicia Vikander and Jennifer Lawrence are trying to win an Oscar with, and go after those roles.
