With such a packed year, I guess there has been a lot that has slipped past me. I had high hopes this year, but so far, nothing has reall impressed me. Avengers was good and Amazing Spider-man was OK, Prometheus was diapointing only because I had very high hopes.
It's kind of been quantity over quality. LOTS of movies, but nothing has been so superior.
But I still have Total Recall and of course I am hoping Nolan saves my 2012.

They almost tied, but I'm giving The Avengers a slight edge over TDKR because of rewatchability and the latter film's drawn out second act. But even so, TDKR was absolutely outstanding.
