The sets, costumes/props and even hovercars being built for this is fantastic, it will help both the visual and acting aspects of the film.

I think you're making a bigger deal out of the accent then you need to. They probably just had her switch accents in order to provide even more shock factor with her character. Kind of like, "WHOA! My wife is trying to kill me! And... she's British now?!"

I guess they could have had her use the English accent when she's "good" and the American accent when she's evil, but it doesn't really matter, does it? It will be interesting to see if Quaid's real personality has an accent. It would be funny if he was Austrian.

Well it was Beckinsale herself that made the joke in the ET behind the scenes thing.

I'm really curious how this film will do at the box office. I honestly have no idea. I think it looks great and has the potential to be an improvement on the original, if for no other reason than the original looks very dated now. And Farrell is easily a better actor than Arnold. But does he still have box office appeal? And even if he does, is it true that you can't replace Arnold? The only reason I ask that question is because we saw Conan flop last year, and Terminator Salvation also underperformed. Of course, that might also be because those were terrible movies.

Kate has been fine and healthy over the years. Sure she was skinny in her earlier flicks...but who cares? that was then and this is now. Mind you, she did gain some weight when she did Van Helsing and if you've seen her other films, aside from Underworld (1,2,4), you'll notice that she's been in pretty good shape.

She looks fine the way she is in the trailer to TR...and my god, that ass is so damn fine. I can say the same with the Biel. LMAO, I wanna make a joke about their asses, but I won't. lmao... I just won't go there...

I think this movie will do solid, if unspectacular, numbers at the box office. Even though Total Recall was made 20 years ago, it's a movie that in a way still fresh on people's mind, and while Colin Farrell is a better actor than Arnold Schwarznegger he does have a questionable track record at the box office (his remake of Fright Night didn't do well, either). I would say that Beckinsale may be the biggest star in the cast, even moreso than Farrell and Biel, due to her success with the Underworld franchise, but she's not the lead just the supporting actress. In a summer jam-packed with blockbusters, if this doesn't have amazing OW it could get lost really quick in the shuffle.

Yeah, Fright Night was a flop, despite good reviews and the fact that it was a remake of a popular horror film. However, I think a big budget, special effect-laden action/sci-fi remake has a better chance at being a hit. Fright Night's problem may have been that general audiences are probably just tired of vampire movies overall. There are plenty of sci-fi action films out there as well, but I guess it's not as specific of a genre so that could work in Total Recall's favor.

But the actors' appeal still could be what either pulls people in or merits a "meh" reaction. Farrell hasn't had a hit in a while, so his appeal is questionable at best. Biel is pretty much the same way. Beckinsdale had hits with the Underworld franchise but I honestly don't know why those movies were hits because literally everyone I've ever known who has seen any of them thinks they are terrible. And Cranston has a cult following but he's not necessarily a household name.
