Yeah but this is a pretty important one considering that it's always supposed to be the right hand of doom and they made the same glaring mistake in the first one for no good reason so you'd think they'd watch out for that.

thats what im saying. This happens all the time but usually goes unnoticed but because of the character it is usually apparent. The job to find these mistakes is that of the script supervisor who i believe is only on set not during the editing process where the film would be flipped. Which is the real glaring mistake made by the Hollywood process

By the end of the movie does it really matter anyway

Wow, Wink looks friggin' fantastic. I predict some great fights with this guy. He reminds me a lot of the hog dude that had the rivalry with Hellboy for a while. He was definitely an inspiration.

I know people who haven't seen del Toro's previous movies because they seemed "silly" to them. But after Pan they thought "Well, maybe I could watch them now".

I have yet to meet one person who likes Pan's and doesn't like Hellboy and vice versa.

I've met too many people...that had no idea DelToro is responsible for movies like Mimic, Blade 2, Hellboy and Devil's Backbone...and yet...when you tell them..."oh yeah...he directed Pan's Labrynth"...suddenly they want to go back and watch Blade 2 and Hellboy...so...as I said...hopefully all these Pan's Labrynth nut-huggers will show some love for Guillermo and support Hellboy 2...along with the people who loved the first movie.

They didnt make a left hand of doom. Its just a flipped shot. Happens alot in movies,they are just more apparent in this movie than most for obvious reasons. If you look at HBs blackshirt the rip is on the same side as his hand of doom and follows the hand in following shots.

They also have no reason to make a Left Hand of Doom because Ron Perelman is supposedly left handed anyway.I dont know why they flip shots but i have noticed it in other action movies before.

Exactly, it was completely obvious in the first movie, and it is a pretty prominant part of the character, with today's technology etc, this shouldnt be happening.

It does matter because its a pretty obvious mistake, it was noticed by a few in the trailer alone.

Whether this movie is successful is anyone's guess.

The first movie was, structurally, a mess - with no real plot for most of the film. It also falls into that dangerous grey area of horror/superhero crossover and we all know where that got Ghost Rider.

This second movie looks to be much more structured but has had hardly any publicity, apart from feature pieces in Empire. The problem is that Empire grab everything about a film and flog it to death and then no other media want to touch it. Empire are doing it with Indiana and they did it with Superman Returns. Movies championed by Empire don't tend to do very well because they get a stranglehold on a film and because Empire is only for film buffs - if you want something to do well, you spread things across the mainstream media and find things that appeal to wider audiences. Exclusive coverage in Empire = the right hand of doom for any movie.

First, I haven't read the comics, but I'm a huge fan of the first film. And I'm so excited for this next one, it looks visually stunning and the action seems to have improved ... judging from the trailers that is.

I can't wait to see this. This and Narnia ... maybe Iron Man ... are the ones I look forward to the most this summer.

Ok, I haven't seen the first film, but I will soon. However, I saw a trailer of the second Hellboy today with Indy and........it looked AWESOME! I really want to see this film, I hope it delivers. Can anyone tell me a little bit about Hellboy the character please? I have no idea of his mythology or anything, lol. Thanks! Oh, and I'm a fan of Guillermo del Toro.

Well you can really just go to wikipedia for this stuff but off the top of my head I remember that he's the son of a demon and a human witch and that he was really meant to bring about the apocalypse but he was raised by the right people and that made him good (thanks to his human side). Many demons and other members of the underworld do not like this and for the most part look down on him because of how powerful he COULD be but chooses not to be. He's been raised on an army base in New Mexico since WWII by the man that found him, Professor Bruttenholm (or Professor Broom) and ages extreeemely slowly.

He was pretty much the first freak to be a part of the BPRD (which really was just Professor B and a select group of people at first) but then the organization grew into something huge and naturally collected more and more supernatural characters like Abe Sapien, Roger the Homunculus, Johann Kraus, and Liz Sherman.

Hellboy has had a thing for pancakes since the comics but a lot of character aspects were made up or added upon by the movies like the kitten love and the baby ruth bar thing (I...think. Man, I need to undust these books). He also never had a thing with Liz Sherman. There's this character Kate Corrigan that was actually the closest he ever got to a love interest though. Oh and Abe Sapien is actually quite a combatant in the books and leads the BPRD field team once Hellboy retires (personal reasons. The whole apocalypse thing kind of freaks him out for a bit and he needs some time to himself).

Around 1993 so he's fairly new in comparison to guys like Spider-man, Hulk, and Batman and all those but he's definitely one of the greater new super heroes.

You should read the books MP, i have read 5 so far and they are 5 of the best comics i have read. The supporting characters are amazing also.
