Trailer vs. Movie

The trailer was great sadly...that was the only thing good about a X3....great hype but disappointing when you watch the movie

Yeah, the trailer is better. Just like The Phantom Menace. I tend watch it's trailers often. They're just simply awesome. "Wipe them out. All of them."

(Although TPM is better than X3.)

if the spent more time on the film and not the trialers, the movie whould have been better

I agree that the trailer advertises a different movie than what we actually got.

The main problem is that the trailer is actually better dramatically paced than the movie. The other problem is that for some reason, in the movie, they decided to use different versions of all the best, most emotionally powerful dialogue, and the versions they used weren't as powerful as the trailer versions.

"There's only one question you must answer, who will you stand with."
"They wish to cure us, but I say we are the cure."
"You have no idea, you have no idea what is upon us now."
"We can help you, we can fix it, we can make it like it was. Stay with me!"
"Magneto's got an army. You go to war, you might not come home, she might not come home."

Plus dialogue that was cut altogether:

"Well then, you know what needs to be done."
"We're gonna protect our citizens."

The trailer had a much more powerful and epic feel to it than the movie itself did.

The movie itself, it takes a step back, and unlike X-Men or X2, really turns itself into a typical superhero movie, instead of a tragic, emotional, epic finale that it could have been. When I saw that trailer the first time, my mind was officially blown. I felt there was no way in hell this movie was gonna be anything less than the best film. But they didn't follow through on what the trailer promised. Which is sad. Because the trailer truly promised the Return of the King of the "X-Men" trilogy.

But **** got cut down, they had to cut the movie to an hour and 44 minutes, they had to change all the powerful diaglogue.

Overall, I still love the movie. But it promised to be a whole lot more than it was.

I seriously think that was a trick to make us believe there would be sentinels!

people poop on fantastic four sometimes but really you have to respect that the trailers didn't try to decieve us.

I really don't like when they do that and make the film look bad by making the trailer look like the best thing ever. See all the star wars prequel trailers to see what I mean. but that's just the way the business is, I guess. Advertising is key.

Fox need to contract their marketing guys to be the editors of X4 :o that trailer is a masterpiece and way more well paced than the whole movie.

I still watch the teaser and movie trailer, though I like the movie, the teaser and trailer made it look EPIC!!!

Agreed!!!

The trailer was great, it actually made the movie look like it might be epic.

Agreed on "the trailer is better than the movie." After watching the trailer you get the feeling it'll be this thought provoking, tragic, epic climax to a trilogy. But the film turned out to be just another run-of-the-mill superhero flick.

Trailer = four out of four stars
X3 = .2 out of four stars

The trailer is sooo amazing...I downloaded it to my ipod and watch it here and there, it is great, the music was better (heh...what happened in X3 :o ), and much much better paced

The Trailer just like with most Movies. Hell in fact someone take the Trailer & add in Cyclops Final Scene / Im the Juggernaut ***** / the end of Logan VS Scene & thats X-Men The Last Stand in 5 Minutes or so

I have a HUGE HD version on my computer for QT - it's 117 MB....and it's never getting deleted from my hard drive. ;)

The trailers made it look like the ultimate X-Men movie. I throught this X3 movie would blow singer X-Men movies away. Outside the fighting, I really did not like the movie.
The trailers were better than this movie. Too bad.

this film was a victim to trailor syndrome-when all you want to see of the film is in the trailer, other films that have sufferd this devastating condition, hulk, two fast two furious and toyko drift, star wars episode three and alien vs predator. This was never the case with BS so unless he shows up again i wont be seeing any films of his any time soon.

I thought that those were some of the best trailers ever, it did exactaly what is was supposed to do(make you wet your pants in excitement). It was dramatic, thrilling, and epic, yet once i saw the full film it felt like an empty promise.

Like my father used to say; "If you don't want no old, bald man don't be looking for love on the internet.", because it happens to us all.

I hope not. PotC2 have the best trailer in a while :(

A good trailer can make even the worst film seem like it's great.
