People just love to hate. He's a very efficient director who gets his stuff done, on time and even on budget with a few spares left. Let them complain...

I see alot call him a C word. Something i can't say here.

Is it cause he likes to have lots of explosions never understood it.

He seems like a cool guy from comentarys.

Some people bash him because it just seems cool to do it. Other it's probably because Bay's movies are too entertaining, as in he doesn't put much impact on emotional scenes in his films, his movies are made for fun, not to educate people or have a message in them. I guess for some people it's wrong.

The thing with Bay is you know what you get with his movies, his action scenes are great and well shot for the most part, although it wouldn't hurt for him to pull back on some of his shots sometimes. The main problem I have with Bay is his movies lack depth, I like movies that make you think and have great character development. I always believed that the Transformers was worthy of such a film. I don't mind the first film, it has some great action and good humor but it wasn't "my" Transformers. From what Michael Bay and the writers have been saying they want to put some time on the science side of TF's and want more focus on the robots them selves. If they pull it of then it will put the first movie to shame, I really hope this time around I will get "my" Transformers.

Haha this made me laugh

Quote~ In some rather bizarre news, it appears a Transformers II extra has been thrown off the set in Philadelphia for behavior unbecoming an extra. His crimes include posting about Shia's future costumes (a military uniform?) and trying to have a conversation with Bay. The hilarious visual image of a guy being tossed off set saying "But I'm a Don Murphy STOOOOOGE" makes it a story you should read at Defamer.com as my attempt to re-create would be a disservice to site readers.

If I wanted to think, I'd read a book. :woot:

Honestly, Bay has never said his movies were deep. He openly admits they're just big, loud toys and action setpieces, it's not like he ever falsified it.

KORTNEY NASH: DAIRY QUEEN COMMERCIAL & TRANSFORMERS 2
kortneybv2.jpg

Our girl Kortney Nash has a new voice over commercial running for Dairy Queen, where she says the word "antidisestablishmentarianism"! (I can't even say that lol). In the commercial, you do not see her, you only hear her voice (she says the word for the little boy). It's a really funny commercial! You can watch it HERE. You can also look out for her in the new movie 'Transformers 2' in June '09! She shot two scenes for the movie! Congrats Kortney!!!

Thanks to her Ms. Nash for the news!

Perhaps she could be Epps's (Tyrese) daughter?

I guess.... the old casting call sheet did mention that they wanted someone for Epps wife....

And the latest shoot images also hint at another character mentioned in the list as being accurate...

I have heard alot of people complain about similar issues but the thing I think everyone has got to realize about the Transformers movie is that it is the first movie in atleast a trilogy maybe more. Everyone seems to want this greatest movie of all time that has this unbelieble story but we have to remember this is a setup film for the series not a stand alone film. We also have to remember that this was the first time something like this has been done so they had to figure alot of things out with $150 mil this time they already have alot of the cgi tech done and they have prob $300 to $350 mil so it should be alot bigger. Also for all Bay critics I know he changed some things from character appearances and stuff like that, but I feel the tone and style of the movie and its story for faithful to the original and how many great action films have huge stories. Also, about depth of the story this movie is made to be fun and big and a exciting summer film I mean come on when we were kids watching the cartoon how many of us were watching Transforners for great story depth or just a cool exciting cartoon. This second film is gonna be amazing I think from everything ive read so far and Im very excited!

That's quite an exaggeration there. Any movie made for the figures you've just supplied would be about the highest budgeted movie to date.

I've read budget leaks and references from USD $145 million to $200 million for Transformers 2 and there are plenty of references around indicating a larger budget than Transformers had.

I read on some other sites that the studio gave Bay a budget well north of $200 million (some say the budget is between $250-$300 million). this may be false or just rumor tho

Here's the thing, Bay said he never intended to "setup" a trilogy, he wants to make movies with seperate stories but can connect together. I'm pretty sure he reiterated that recently saying something like "this won't be some lame sequel" or something to that effect. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the first movie was bad, there's just just a few things that kinda erked me irked me, meh different strokes for different folks.

Yea I get what ur sayin but I think when he said this wont be a lame sequel used for a set-up he was talkin about putting a huge cliffhanger or to be continued at the end like matrix 2 or Pirates of the carribean 2 did just to get people to see the third. I still think the films will share some issues while diving into new storyline like the Spiderman movies well each movie has its own unique plot and storyline yet there is an overall story arch that we wont be able to completely appreciate until the complete saga is finished like if you watched the movie Star Wars and the sequels never came out the Story would have been completely different than if u look at all 3 movies of the original trilogy together. The second 2 were there own brilliant films but also added to the overall greatness of the first. Thats what I meant but I def understand what u are sayin and I agree with the way Bay is handling it by not makin the 2nd film just a launch pad for a third.

Spiderman 3 Had 300 Mill Budget.

Dont Think Transformers 2 Has Such A Big Budget.
I Mean Look What They Did With T1 With 150 Mill.

But to be fair, i thought TF was Bay's most emotional and deep movie yet, some of the emotional scene's were spot on, like Bumblebee's capture, and Sam fighting to free him, or when Sam begs Bumblebee to get up after his legs are blown, or some of the smaller scene's between Sam and Mikaela. I couldnt believe i was watching a Bay film when seeing these scene's, they really added a lot of emotion to the movie and the action scene's, as we actually cared about the people involved.

If Bay can keep scene's like that, and gives us more and better robot action that we all crave and a storyline that draws from the comics, we could be in for something special with TF2.

..and what they spent all that money on in SM3 is beyond me.

Same with Blade 3. It had the biggest budget of all the Blade movies, yet looked the cheapest.

It's all about how they spend their money, i guess. More money doesn't always equal to a better movie.

bay doesnt need 300 milions. sorry but he doesnt need it. 200 is WAAY enough for the sequel.
