G1 was the first and the first is USUALLY the greatest and in this case it is. I grew up with teh G1 toys that were hand me downs from my brothers who grew up in the 80s, I saw very few G1 episodes but I loved them.

I mostly grew up on Beast Wars, it wasn't G1 but it was all I had. It was certainly different, but it was a good contrast to G1, being it involved animals instead of vehicles and it visited G1 from time to time. It wasn't the greatest but it was good, then after that, the rest of the shows weren't as good, but it was transformers to watch.

I still wanna buy all the G1 episodes on DVD here in the USA but they are so hard to come by. I also remember when the movie came out on vhs, I loved it, i now own the 25th aniversary DVD

You can buy them on Amazon

I'm a bit surprised by the Beast Wars hate.

I mean, BW, along with G1, have always been my favorite TF lines, but as much as I love the original Transformers series, Beast Wars was a better series, IMO.

I dont know if I can agree with that but G1 was first.

Agreed on both points:grin:

Batman:Returns
Batman:Forever
Banman & Robin
Batman:Begins

No Joker in any of them

All 170 episodes of the Superman Raido show
All 17 short animated movies produced between 1941 and 1943.
All 15 episode movie serial starring Kirk Alyn in 1948
All 104 episodes of the Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves.
Superman III

No Lex in any of them.

Got me there:grin:

When can I expect it???:bh:

Let me be more specific: Batman MOVIE franchise without Joker. Superman MOVIE franchise without Lex Luthor. It will never happen because people expect them to be there, even if it's only a small part.

About my G1 comment. I said that because that's the only one I watched.

2 days ago, I posted this:

Revenge of the Fallen.

Maybe as in: The Fallen?

http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Fallen

We may not have seen the last of the Fallen. Hasbro recently applied for "The Fallen" as a trademark...

Seems my theory proved to be correct!

http://chud.com/articles/articles/15...OGY/Page1.html

I immediately brushed this off, knowing that the first film had no interest in established mythology. I assumed Bay would just keep building on his own, new Transformers story, and the pre-strike plot details I heard backed me up.

Egg, meet face.

Yesterday I heard from a trustworthy source with access to the production that all of my assumptions were wrong. The Fallen of the title, I was told, is in fact the Fallen of the comics.

It's Michael Bay. Would he pass up a Transformer that is constantly on fire?

I can just picture it in my head.

Bay: "What kind of transformers do you guys have around?"
Hasbro executive: "Yeah, we have a truck, a hot rod, a transformer that's on fire.."
Bay: *orgasms*

I know exactly where you got these lines from.

I knew what you ment...I was just busting your B@!!$

When I'm done with it.

Thats just nasty:wow:

I saw nothing there that proves your theory right.

I think the title is Michael Bay's way of causing a stir about the movie and to guide us to think it is "The Fallen".

I hope the stuff about The Fallen is true, visually he'd look amazing and i imagine he'd interest Bay.

New pics from the Smithsonian shoot are up in the pic thread and the set report thread....

True, plus Bay has alot of leeway with him. He can put his own spin on him without alot of backlash from the fans, cause most have no idea who the hell he is in the first place.

That's probably the best way to do things...find the obscure character that fanboys know very little about so there's no way to receive criticism.

I totally agree with that concept,I was thinking about that before.

$187 Billion Global Licensing Industry Comes to Life at Licensing International Expo 2008

Biggest Brands of Today and Tomorrow Converge on New York City, June 10-12

Licensing International Expo 2008
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--From June 10-12, more than 25,000 attendees from over 82 countries will converge on New York’s Jacob Javits Convention Center for Licensing International Expo, the world’s premier marketplace for the $187 billion licensing industry.

Playing host to over 25,000 attendees from 82 countries, Licensing International Expo 2008 promises to be the largest assembly of licensing professionals anywhere, at any time -- from intellectual property owners, licensees and agents, to retailers, wholesalers and beyond. Whether spotting trends, building strategic partnerships, securing promotional tie-ins, or taking properties worldwide, this is where it all happens.

But the real stars of the show are the 6,000 properties and brands showcased throughout the halls of Jacob Javits Convention Center, ranging from the established to the up-and-coming. Spanning such categories as entertainment, lifestyle, sports, fashion, food & beverage, automotive, home, publishing, art and more, this year’s show is certain to uncover countless compelling stories.

According to Steven Ekstract, Group Publisher of License! Global Magazine, here’s a few to watch for next week:

Character Licensing

The largest category, character licensing generates over $42 billion in annual global retail sales. In addition to the various characters making their debuts at this year’s show, countless classics celebrate milestone anniversaries this year and next, including Smurfs (50th anniversary), Inspector Gadget (25), Angelina Ballerina (25), Veggie Tales (15), Where’s Waldo?® (21), Cabbage Patch Kids (25), Casper the Friendly Ghost (turning 60 in 2009), Barbie (50 in 2009) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (25 in 2009).

Entertainment

While films like “Indiana Jones,” “Iron Man” and “Sex and the City” are current box office favorites, several highlighted titles are certain to generate significant buzz (and licensed product revenue) in the years to come, including “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” (2009), “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” (2009), “GI Joe” (2009), “Where the Wild Things Are” (2009), “Transformers 2” (2009), “Conan” (2009), “Land of the Lost” (2009), “The Last Airbender” (2010) and others.

Going Global

Licensing truly is a global business, as evidenced by the numerous products and brands whose popularity knows no borders. Among popular foreign properties now making their mark in the US are South Korea’s Pucca, Japan’s Angel Cat Sugar, Italy’s Gormiti and France’s Monster Buster Club. Meanwhile, the popularity of Western brands in such emerging markets as Eastern Europe, China, India and Russia will continue to be a major avenue of growth in an otherwise struggling US economy.

Fashion Friendly

For retailers, deals with consumer friendly brands serve as a welcome source of foot traffic and, ultimately, sales in an otherwise slumping retail environment. Most recently, the industry has seen such collaborations as Marvel and Carrefour, Disney’s Hannah Montana and Wal-Mart, Hasbro and Steve & Barry’s, and Disney’s Camp Rock and Target, among countless others.

The Green Movement

With an increasing focus on protecting the environment, several consumer brands have developed eco-friendly properties this year. Among those highlighted include Penguin’s Peter Rabbit…Naturally Better, the quintessential green brand based on the classic Peter Rabbit stories from Beatrix Potter; Planet Earth, the BBC’s epic award-winning production and the inspiration behind an extensive licensing and merchandising program; the eco-friendly Idbids characters; and a range of products from The Beanstalk Group and The World Wildlife Fund which are considerate of the environment and offer consumers better everyday choices.

Wide World of Sports

From the sale of Red Sox World Series caps on the streets of Tokyo to Beckham emblazoned Galaxy jerseys dotting downtown LA, the global market for licensed athlete and team products has never been stronger. Among the sports brands represented at this year’s show are NASCAR, Little League Baseball, Little League Softball, Elite Mexican Soccer, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the PGA TOUR.

Timeless Legends

As the popularity of celebrity branded product lines continues to strengthen, this year’s show features a number of icons whose legacies are certain to attract significant attention. Elvis Presley Enterprises will be celebrating the King of Rock and Roll with a series of artists and photographers showcasing their work of him. Among others to be showcased are Marilyn Monroe, Groucho Marx, John Wayne, and Bruce Lee.

They tend to hype up upcoming releases with artwork, props and merchandise so something from TF2 should be on display.

I think it may still be early for a teaser poster. Maybe just a poster with the title and autobot symbol would work. I mean they are busy shooting the movie so I don't expect much.

I expect a Teaser with Star Trek. It comes out in December right?

And maybe a Poster in....Late October?

I predict a teaser Thanksgiving or Christmas, and full out trailer byLate February, early March.
