Bah it was just to release a new line of toys anyway, if anything the characters of the movie were better when they were in the comics. Once again the comics show that it was the only medium in which depth could be included with the transformers concept.

Why won't they release anything for FT:ROTF????

That being said, found this bit of casting news on TFW2005. could be a big part fo the plot involving the actor named here so i'll spoiler box it all...

Steve Tom's website says he'll be a principal actor in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Although it's often full of inaccuracies, IMDB lists his role as McClaren Robotics CEO.

Meanwhile, Theiapolis Cinema is reporting that his role is Massive Dynamics CEO.

With either of those companies names, I'm sure speculation regarding the role of this company could go in several directions.

New York-based Newsday.com is also reporting that actress Katie Lowes was cast as Sam Witwicky's college resident assistant (RA).

IMDB Profile: Katie Lowes
Probably most notable for her one-shot appearance on The Sopranos.

One of the highest selling, yes. .

Would you mind telling me how you came to that assumption????

I'm not doubting you or anything like that its just that There havent been that many different versions of "Hot Rod" in the first place so I find it hard to believe that he's one of the "Highest Selling" characters.

If I'm right there have only been about 5 [maybe 6] toys of the character released by Hasbro in the last 25 years and not all of them were even called "Hot Rod".

There have been a good number of Homage's to him done in the quise of repaints of other characters thou.

^I thought i was the only one who doubted this.

I read it somewhere. I don't know where exactly, so I'm probably wrong anyway.

I would assume that OP would be the highest selling TF.

Not sure if these had been posted yet:

Transformers 2 Set Report: Bumblebee, Isabel Lucas And More!

Some lucky person had Michael Bay, Shia LaBoeuf and company filming outside of his window two nights ago, and he took some photos and video footage to prove it!

One scene involved Bumblebee racing down the street doing 180’s and making skid marks on the road.

In another scene /film report:

Later that night they filmed a scene where Isabel Lucas storms away from Bumblebee (in alt mode) after saying something to Sam through the passenger’s side window, leaving Shia LaBoeuf to talk to (or possibly yell at?) the car. Not exactly sure how this fits into the scene, but they were squirting this glowing green goo on Lucas. And yes, that is Michael Bay directing Shia and Isabel in the photo below.

MTV discussed Transformers 2 with script writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Sadly the interview pretty much confirms what we all knew was probably the case - no Dinobots. "We couldn’t quite figure out how to justify a robot that would pretend to be a dinosaur" Orci said.

When asked about the return of Megatron, Orci responded "That would be silly" suggesting maybe the "Fallen" is not Megs as many believe. Of course this could just them having fun with providing a little misinformation and hiding plans that they plan on the "silly" return of Megatron.

They also revealed the theme of the sequel. Where the first is about a boy and his car, the second according to Orci is "It’s about being away from home. It’s a few years later and Sam is going to finally go to college and he’s going to face being away from home just as the Autobots are having to deal with being away from Cybertron."

"Oh, and what about that title? Why “Revenge of the Fallen”? Orci deadpanned, “Because ‘Transformers 2′ sounds stupid.”"

The picture is from KNX1070 that shows the San Diego Comic-Con display for TF2. Link provided by JFuller.

Some interesting news concerning the plot.

NO MEGATRON! Is he outta his ****ing mind?! :cmad: Do they not know that Megatron's key characteristic is that he is indestructable? I hope they are pulling the fans chain on that one, because if the Fallen is the main baddie in this, and the Decepticons are not lead by Megs (at some point in the film), i'm gonna really be pissed.

^I think the writers are just BSing. Bay is well known for putting out foilers, and he definitely wouldn't let his writers reveal major plot points.

If anyone in the universe is dumb enough to make a TF movie without Megatron...

It's Bay. :csad:

Perhaps we're going to get something like X2. A team up at the end. The Fallen shows up, Autobots can't stop him alone, they team up with the Decepticons, and resurect Megatron to help stop The Fallen. Now that, would be dumb.

If The Fallen is the same Fallen from the comics, then i think a team up is inevitable.

I agree but I don't like it, they should be sticking with the original formula of bots vs cons :down

Well, Shia got arrested this morning for driving while drunk and getting into an accident....wonder if/how this will affect filming?

I know...I remember reading interviews with him during the first movie priding himself on not drinking and doing the things that other young stars do that could hurt their careers.

He had surgery today from what I read...he might miss a couple of weeks at least.

That Hollywood lifestyle....these kids start off all individualistic but being around all that **** constantly, apparently they just can't maintain it. Hannah "I'm a good little Tennessee gal" Montana slowly but surely.

This is exactly what I've been *****ing about in the negatron thread. This movie sounds like it's trying to do way too much. The entire story while watching the film will be lost between too many things going on and spreading the character development/interaction too thin.

The autobots and decepticons had very little on screen interaction in the first movie, there is still so much that should be developed and explored before they're suddenly "friends" for half a movie.
