Transformers: Defiance

spoilers:

After Starscream gets in a scuffle while researching a Nebula system, an alien reptilian-like species decides to attack Cybertron, while Arcee along with others discover that golden statue of the Decepticon logo(seen on the cover; but I got the B cover instead...also, it looked like there were Constructicons there).

Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are protecting the Allspark(they're both named Guardians), when the new aliens attack SimFur.

Starscream, Barricade and Skorponok lead an army to fight against the aliens when Megatron runs in, taking out their forces and then goes back to his living arrangement, where the golden statue has been taken(Optimus has it removed from the ground due to Megatron's orders).

It ends with Megatron becoming weak, as the statue is becoming stronger. And it shows that next issue is when Megaton becomes evil; so it seems Fallen "called" him to become the leader of Decepticons.

There ya go.

Nice, i hope we get that back story in the actual movie....

I like the concept. Its better than the "he just suddenly turned on us" scenario that they established from before.

Adds weight to the "I'm sorry brother" line from Optimus from the first movie. Could also be a negative and show Megatron as being a weak-minded wuss.

Yes, it does seem that Fallen does turn Megatron evil. Which makes me think that Fallen wanted the Allspark to himself, and if everything went as plan, Megatron would've taken the Allspark to himself, even though Fallen wanted Megs to bring it to Earth(or so that's what it seems like Fallen's plan was).

But yes, it does add a lot more depth to the first film; actually makes the first film much more interesting.

Sounds like The Fallen was the one who made Megatron turn, I like the way they are linking events in the sequel to the first movie, and they seem to be doing it well. Though I hope Megatron stays as evil as ever in future movies.

I hope Megatron stays evil as well. If the Autobots do indeed bring him back to defeat Fallen, I hope Megs backstabs them.

A Fallen/Megatron battle would be sick too.

I get the feeling TF2 may clean up a few plot holes from the first movie, and as cosmichero stated, add weight to characters.

I hope he backstabs whoever he ends up allying himself with, whether its the Autobots or The Fallen, it will just be awesome to see he was evil without The Fallen's influence.

Lets hope so, its looking that way at the moment, hopefully it is one of those sequels that actually manages to make the first movie better.

It probably won't be that much deeper than the first. I'm expecting another roller coaster ride. I mean, I do think there will be more backstory and character development than the 1st, but not a whole lot more. this movies main focus is still going to be explosions and fun. (instead of character development and plot.) Don't get your hopes up by expecting Michael bay to change his ways now.

Actually, it is Bay in this case. He wrote a scriptment for the film which the final draft was based off of.

I am thinking that the Fallen will be calling out to the Allspark.

Perfect plan really: Fallen leaves Cybertron, becomes a God to the humans(maybe with MORE Transformers?). Something happens to the Fallen, he turns out to just be a history story. Megatron gets involved with Fallen's plan, as Fallen wants the Allspark. Megatron wants its power, and tries to gain in. Optimus sends the Cube to outer space, when Fallen calls for it.

what if it's megatron and the autobots vs the fallen and the decepticons? like maybe megatron only took over after the fallen had left; and when the fallen comes back he takes over from starscream and leads the decepticons. so megs wanting to regain his role of leadership would join w/ the autobots to fight the fallen, only to betray them later.

...and than in movie 3 starscream would want to regain his right to cammand the decepticons by betraying megatron. (u know, cuz what goes around comes around:yay:)

fyi, I know that's not news, i'm just tryin to throw some (semi) new ideas out there.

i dont know. i just can not imagine meatron with hes big body with hes mean voice standing next to Sam,OP,.....

I hope Bay doesn't go with Generic movie sequel and have the two good and evils team up to take down the greater evil, I mean, Megatron should worship the fallen, and then get his ass kicked by the Fallen when he is released, something that truly shows how powerful he is.

I do agree it's a pretty cliche idea that's happened in many stories. I can't name many though. But off the top of my head, Blade 2 had it too.

Not to mention how many times its happened in Dragon Ball Z or Star trek.

Bad guys teaming up with or becoming friends with the good guys is pretty common these days.
