Compare these lyrics with the animated Transformers movie soundtrack (1986).

The Transformers (R) (Theme) lyrics
Something evil's watching over you
Comin' from the sky above
And there's nothing you can do

Prepare to strike
There'll be no place to run
When your caught within the grip
Of the evil Unicron

Transformers
More than meets the eye
Transformers
Robots in Disguise

Strong enough to break the bravest heart
So we have to pull together
We can't stay worlds apart

To stand divided we will surely fall
Until our darkest hour
When the light will save us all

Transformers
More than meets the eye
Transformers
Robots in Disguise
Transformers

Autobots wage their Battle
To destroy the evil forces
Of the Decepticons

It's judgment day and now we've made our stand
And now the powers of darkness
Have been driven from our land

The Battle's over but the war has just begun
And this way it will remain til the day when all are one

Transformers
Transformers

Transformers
More than meets the eye

Instruments Of Destruction lyrics

Iron birds of fortune
Adrift above the skies
Cloudy revelations
Unseen by naked eyes
Flying tools of torment
Will penetrate the sphere
Erupt the rock of ages
Bringing final fear

* Instruments of destruction
Tools of powerplays
It's a violent eruption
Existence drips away

What it really matter
When nothing really counts
Grave eternal darkness
When drained of every ounce
And when the nightmare's over
The final from the storm
Dust of all creation
To ashes we transform

* Repeat

Nothins Gonna Stand In Our Way lyrics
The fortunate ones
To be fast and free and young
I want to count myself among
The fortunate ones

We won't be denied
We know that time is on our side
We've got the passion and the pride
We won't be denied

* This generations
With fire in our eyes
Strong are the ties that bind us
We don't need no alibis

** Nothing's gonna stand in our way
Nothing's gonna stand in our way
Nothing's gonna stand in our way
Not tonight

We want it all
And tonight we got the call
We're running high but we won't fall
We want it all

We won't be denied
Like a breaker at high tide
We're gonna take this sweet joy ride
We won't be denied

Grew expectations
Moments in the sun
We've waited all our lives
And now we know our time has come

** Repeat

Nothing's gonna stand in our way

* Repeat

** Repeat
Even those lyrics are trite and sh***y (and corny), but at least they had decent music backing them up.

Even put to action scenes, the song still sucks.

Heck, even THIS is better!

you call that ur best? Let me have wack at it. :o

You need to feel the force flow!

The drums and guitar at the beginning of the 86 theme song are forever embedded in me. I can't hear it without smiling.

Autobots Are Wataching Over Yooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111

"We fight our freedom.
We follow our heart.

Transformers more than meets the eye.
Autobots are watching over you.

Transformers robots in disguise.
Ready to die for what we love.

From a far off place, in a distant world.
Comes an army of metal with a vision of destruction.
Autobots are watching over you."

hahahahahaha!!! wtf?

I still don't get this lyric

Transformers robots in disguise.
Ready to die for what we love.

Its like a Japanese song trying to imitate an American one (FYI for those lost, when Japanese songwriters try to incorporate English lyrics into their songs they make the WEIRDEST phrases known to man).

I misheard it as "From a far out place, in Disneyworld".

You're so right it hurts. Check this example:

and the cheesy lyrics are delivered with so much unabashed passion and commitment. It's infectious. :trans:

not a hint of sarcasm. unlike the linkin park version which reeks of sarcasm. :whatever:

The beginning and right after the big guitar solo when it is building back into the lyrics....the guitar has a long riff and then four quick riffs. Sorta like BAM RIGHT IN YOUR FACE ROCK EAT IT MANG AND WOMANGS. That song will always be Transformers for me.

BLIND it's the 80s all over again! :wow: :wow: :wow:

This **** better not play during the movie (and I dont think it will)... it'll play somewhere during the end credits!

When I saw the "new theme" was online, I thought it was that ultra-stylish-epic-sounding-glorious version of the new TF-theme heard within the new trailer, which I would like to think will play INSIDE the actual movie here and there!!! (especially during the final battles).

anyway, this here pathetic keyboard theme is only acceptable if it's played during the end credits!

CLEARING UP THE PLACEMENT OF THE SONG & WHY THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY "FIGHT MUSIC"- PERIOD

It IS a credits song... I am willing to bet a million dollars on the fact this song will not be in the film and only during the credits. Also, this is obvious due a spoiler in the song. The song is for credits, it's the second song in the credits- most likely- I'll put money down on that now.

The movie will/should NEVER use "fight" music like TMNT (all) did- which oddly, some fans have been asking for, funny? I know, but it's sadly true.

I think people are confused, because I've heard many TF fans- oddly, oddly, very oddly enough saying that they wanted metal and really really heavy rock songs playing during the fights... now, that- to me personally is a true WTF?! So please for the love of god, don't have what some TF fans have been asking for as 'fight music' in the film- just play the score through the fight sequences, we don't need heavy metal songs playing with a fight sequence. That's what the early TMNT films did and it was corny as hell, we don't need a "go turtles, go turtles, go!" playing during a fight sequence. That would ruin the movie, flat out. Just play Jablonsky's score for the fight sequences and autobots rolling out.

And that rant above is why, I think, there are some posters who are confused as to the placement of this song as a CREDITS song. Because in some of their minds, they had Powerman500, etc. playing over Optimus vs. Bonecrusher and other random things like that. So, hearing the song, based on what some have had in their minds for so long- they naturally place it in the "autobots roll out" moment. Which is obviously wrong for the reason detailed in the spoiler below:

Notice how they don't say Jazz. That should be a clue enough for you guys to figure out that this song won't be played during the film... "why didn't they mention Jazz in that song?" Dun-dun-dun.... he dies, that's why. It would be too clear and obvious... thus, not an "autobots roll out" song- there won't be one... it will be Jablonsky's score.

The ONLY songs that will/should be in the films are the possible other tracks in the soundtrack. And the ONLY reason why those other tracks has a chance- for example, the more "Sam's story" type songs- is due to the presence of a car RADIO while driving. Like a possible song when Sam and Miles arrive at the lake, but other than those scenes- nada, nothing... just have Jablonsky's score.

Do I like the song? Yes, I do... but, seriously if it plays during the film itself- I will be pissed. There shouldn't be any "fight music" PERIOD because as I said- the idea of "fight music" in a film like this is cheesy as hell and is a joke now. It's something you would expect in a bar fight scene during a comedy.

Best example of that that comes to mind is the scene from 'Dirty Work':

But, fear not- as I said this IS most likely a CREDITS song. The second credits song... just like Aerosmith's take on the "Spider-Man" theme for Spidey's first film.

Also, most of the songs on the soundtrack- other than credits songs and a possible song or two playing on a radio (due to the need for diegetic sound- in this case music; flashback to the Uncle Ben and Peter car scene in SM1)- will not be heard in the movie at all. These soundtracks are made to produce an extra promotional and/or merchandising item to go along with the film at most. Just look at all the past superhero flicks, for example, with a soundtrack- chances are 80-90% of the songs on the soundtrack you won't find anywhere in the film itself.

what I'm working on is going to make you all luv it.

*drags music file to recycle box*
Damn Stright..

THAT...was DISGUSTING.
I don't know which is worse..
The theme, or the fact Bay let this slide.

..and this is coming from a musician from these boards.
I actually write game music. If I had known they were that desperate for a TF theme,
I would've written one myself...

Check out my music - www.myspace.com/stoma

I would think that they would have gotten a well known band to do the theme song for the Transformers especially with a movie this big :whatever: I´ve never even heard of that band Mutemath and after hearing the song I never want to hear from them again

Sorry I dont usually post this much but..
CRAP CRAP CRAP..

I would have even prefered

YOU'VE GOT THE TOUCH!
You got the POWER! lol..

The G.I. Joe theme would've made more sense..

I love electronica so I have to say I ****ing loved it. A little corny but this is Transformers for ****'s sake.

I just heard a little bit of it and wow, that was extremely painful and I couldn't bear to listen to anymore of that travesty of a song. There's nothing about this that screams of the badassery involving the Transformers.

The song for the ending credits is just horrible. Even The Hills Have Eyes 2 had a decent ending song that symbolized the 80's. I just don't like how this song appears to be the exact opposite of the Transformers.

Give me Lion's version anyday.

Wow, didn't know it was MuteMath. They're an ok band.

However I still think this song blows.

Hey hey let's go kenka suru
Taisetsu na mono protect my balls!
Boku ga warui so let's fighting...
Let's fighting love! Let's fighting love!

Gotta love South Park.:woot:

Man, this song is gonna divide the fans more than anything else in the movie. Funny. :yay:
