Sci-Fi Tron: Ares with Jared Leto

I thought the teaser was better. Leto is a massive turn off though. Shame cause the rest of the cast is pretty good. Though I’m not expecting much from this director either.
The teaser was much better, more cinematic.

Not surprised they gave us a trailer with Evan Peters injecting some enthusiasm rather than just Jared Leto sleepwalking through a nothing speech that felt like something inspired by David Carradine’s dialogue in Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues.

I'm sorry, I'm gonna watch this anyway. It looks good. Won't miss a Tron movie with a NIN soundtrack in theaters because of Leto.

“We all heard stories about Jared, how he transforms into the characters, but even this didn’t prepare me for what was to come,” Villeneuve tells WSJ. “He entered the room, and he could not see at all. He was walking with an assistant, very slowly. It was like seeing Jesus walking into a temple. Everybody became super silent, and there was a kind of sacred moment. Everyone was in awe. It was so beautiful and powerful—I was moved to tears. And that was just a camera test!”

Didn't he also pull this **** on the Morbius set?

Like, you don't need to be THAT method my guy.

Yeah he acted like he couldn’t walk without crutches in between takes so that when he had to go take a piss, it would take way longer than it should have and the rest of the cast and crew had to stand around waiting for him as he pretended to limp down the hallway.

Yeah I'm a sucker for Tron stuff so I'll be seeing this too. Now where is the 4K physical release for Legacy Disney?

Wonder what he did for “the method” on this set.

Really does make you wonder though what dirt he has because not only does he keep getting roles despite all the rumours and allegations (which you know… it shouldn’t happen but lots of abusers keep getting work as long as they’re considered profitable), he’s getting lead roles now in blockbuster type movies despite failing to prove himself as an even remotely bankable star. What does he have that his career survived Morbius’s unprecedented double bombing? :thf:

Yeah I don’t get it either. Leto and Ezra Miller must have some videos of David Zaslav and Bob Iger having some nasty fun with farm animals or something.

2017:

This isn't the first time we've heard of Leto's potential involvement in the Tron universe. Before Disney pulled the plug on Tron 3 in 2015, the studio was reportedly looking to add Leto to the film's cast.

While the project does not yet have a writer or director, Tron: Legacy co-producer Justin Springer is on board to produce. In the event the film moves forward, Leto and his producing partner Emma Ludbrook would also help produce in some capacity.

2024:

Method acting needs to be a practice that's admonished by the industry because it feels like it's just an excuse for actors to be *******s.

Method acting has been misconstrued over the decades. People don’t even really know what it means. It’s simply a technique to connect to a character through your own personal experiences and emotions. It doesn’t have to be a 1:1 and it doesn’t mean blinding yourself or sending used condoms.

I really regret not watching Legacy on the big screen so I will probably see this one when it's out.
Legacy is a feast for the eyes and the ears. Probably my most listened to soundtrack after the Star Wars movies.

I'm going be that person and say Legacy didn't age that well to me...

Legacy would have been better if they didn’t do that awful de-aging on Bridges. He looked like a Dick Tracy villain.

The technology wasn't there yet. Even 15 years later there are only a few de-aging effects that actually look good. Samuel L. Jackson in Captain Marvel and Kurt Russell in the opening scene of GOTG Vol. 2 come to mind.

Jeff, no! Stay away from him!
