I just want more Olivia Wilde in that outfit of hers.

^^
No doubt your wish will be granted.
I am sure the ISO code will play a big part in the movie.

Gem was derezed with Zuis when the End of Line Club was destroyed by CLU.
I guess her program was backed-up anyway.

Probably. And honestly, I have no problem if theres zero explanation of Gems return haha. Hope to see her back.

No need for long explanation. Her code is still in Sam Flynn SSD drive, she can be re-rezzed.

That's what I'm thinking. You can't get anymore of a The Empire Strikes Back type threat than bringing the big bad himself (and hopefully Sark 2.0) back into the fold.
Well, I know that it was an Easter Egg on the set, but they did hint at MCP still being around, or at least a form of it existing, so I would expect a return.

Maybe Dillinger Jr. takes the opportunity to somehow install MCP into the new Grid as a virus.
And Joseph Kosinski mentioning that the design aesthetic for Tron 3 will be done from scratch really gets me excited. Considering that pretty much everything in last film was done away with the Grid being reset, it makes sense to start from the ground up.
Agreed. Sam creates his own version of the Grid so it could be vastly different from Kevin's own and a new place to explore.

I would like to see what users are capable of as well. They hinted at it and dabbled a little with what Kevin could do, so I hope they go into it more with Sam.

Does anyone know if that prologue trailer they showed (not the test footage) ever came out officially? That trailer still gives me goosebumps especially during that Jarvis speech.

They must keep a continuity in the design.
The grid V1 and V2 were different but still had similar design and were different at the same time, you could feel that grid V2 was an evolution of grid V1.
I guess gride V3 will be the same way, different but from the same root.

Edit : the power of Users is only limited by their mind and creativity, on the grid, a User has no limit of what he can do.

I imagine so. The visual aesthetic is gorgeous and they know that's a big selling point.

They better do epic stuff

I really only have one thing that HAS to come back. Daft Punk needs to do the score again.

Upgrading the grid is pretty much a given, but as like someone said earlier I don't think they are going to deviant completely from the previous two grids.

Also rematching Digital Domain's vfx breakdown for Tron: Legacy, still amazes me how much work they put into it.

Legacy was a work of art, plain and simple. As long as they can live up to the visual aesthetic of Legacy and make the story a bit stronger, they'd have a winner on their hands.

On Building From "Tron" Technology
"For this movie I had an idea of a new technique that I knew would provide a level of realism and immersion that you could never get from blue screen or green screen because the interactive lighting environment is something that always has to be faked. So I had an idea for something that was outlandish and I figured out with my DP audio [Claudio Miranda] how to actually pull it off. I'm really excited for people to see that in the movie because I think that from a technological point of view it was the most advanced thing I've ever done, and it was only possible because of the camera we had and the lenses we were using.

Exclusive: Joseph Kosinski Hopes Daft Punk Will Be Down For More Adventures In The ‘Tron’ Universe
Drew Taylor said:
Yesterday we spoke with “Tron Legacy” mastermind Joseph Kosinksi about a lot of things regarding his wild, $300 million video art installation that masquerades, quite handily, as a holiday season blockbuster.

And of course amidst the discussion was talk of French house robots Daft Punk and their significant contribution to the film: a glittery, awe-inspiring score which is so impressive that at the screening we attended in Manhattan, their name in the end credits was the only part of the film that elicited applause.

Kosinski told The Playlist that his intent was to create “a classic film score with classic themes and melodies but blended electronic music and orchestral music in maybe a way that hadn’t been done before, but also to blur the line between what is score and what is sound design.” If that sounds like a daunting task, it is. “We’ve been working on the music as long as I’ve been working on the movie,” he said.

We then asked if he’d want to work with Daft Punk on another film score.

“If we were lucky enough to get another opportunity to do another ‘Tron’ score, then I would absolutely want to do it with them again. I think they’ve kind of created the sonic template for this movie, so absolutely. I can’t imagine doing it without them.”

Kosinksi said the Daft Punk score/sound is so wed to the “Tron Legacy” universe that, while he wouldn’t necessarily want to import that style into something else that he’s working on (and we’ll have details on the dual projects he’s currently developing tomorrow), if he got invited back to do another “Tron” movie, then he would of course bring the robots with him. So does that mean more ‘Tron’ movies for Kosinski? The director does sound game. “It all depends obviously on how ‘Tron Legacy’ does,” he said. “And then if the fans demand it and Disney wants us to go back, we’ll start thinking about how to do that.”

Of course, the thing dictating the possibilities of a sequel are the first film’s box office. And we’ll find that out soon enough - “Tron Legacy” opens on Friday in traditional, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters. We suggest seeing it in IMAX 3D if you can. But that’s only if you like your mind melted.

From THR:
SXSW 2012: 'The Raid' Composer Joe Trapanese is Taking on 'TRON: Uprising'
Although Daft Punk got the lion's share of the credit for the score to 2010's TRON: Legacy, there were a lot of other talented artists working behind the scenes to help the electronic duo translate their dancefloor-friendly sound into something suitably dramatic. Joe Trapanese was the pair's orchestrator, and he now succeeds them in the TRON saga as the composer for TRON: Uprising, a prequel series that connects the dots between the original 1982 TRON and its long-awaited follow-up.

Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Trapanese at the South by Southwest film festival about his work with Mike Shinoda for The Raid: Redemption, Gareth Evans’ forthcoming action thriller. Additionally, he offered some insights about what fans might expect when TRON: Uprising debuts in the summer of 2012 onDisney XD.

The Hollywood Reporter: What do you have lined up after The Raid? We understand you are doing some more TRON-related work.

Joe Trapanese: Yeah, as a composer I'm composing music for the show TRON: Uprising, which is actually an animated series that delves into the TRON world and it occurs between the original movie and the new movie, and really develops our characters and goes in a different place and it's very exciting to explore that world a little bit more.

THR: For your Uprising music are you using the framework of what Daft Punk and Wendy Carlos did in TRON and TRON: Legacy, respectively? Is it maybe a combination of things, like using Alexander Courage's original Star Trek theme and combining it with Jerry Goldsmith or James Horner's film scores?

Trapanese: Well, that's where the magic is, and that's what makes it so exciting -- that you come into this show excited about the legacy and the framework that you're working in. But what's cool is that we have a long season; we have a lot of episodes to get through, a lot of characters to develop, and what's great about that is you can take that framework that Daft worked so hard on in the film and then explore that. And you can take that story [by] Joe Kosinski and Sean Bailey and Justin Springer in the new film, plus the story of the original film, by Steve Lisberger, put them together and explore it in all sorts of ways that they couldn't even imagine. So its kind of the best of both worlds. You're kind of working within a really strong framework and really strong legacy, but you're also exploring it in ways that you're finding new creativity at every turn.

THR: How much recognition will feel fans of the films experience in your music? Will it at all be the same, or will it be a totally separate score in the way Clone Wars was as a series to the Star Wars films?

Trapanese: I think if you enjoyed the score for TRON: Legacy, you'll very much enjoy the score for TRON: Uprising.

On The Score
"The composer is Anthony Gonzales, also known as M83, who's working in conjunction with Joe Trapanese, who was my orchestrator on 'Tron' and worked with Daft Punk. We've done a score for this film that I am as excited about as I was for the 'Tron: Legacy' score. It's just spectacular, I'm really psyched. And we will be recording that in January.".

More Tron. Get rid of the religious/rebellion aspect (had enough of that in the Matrix)

Better paced script. Legacy didn't have the action paced well with the drama IMO

Tron himself definately needs a big part in this, who knows maybe Ram could return as well.

Well since Wilde got out, maybe Cillian finds a way to get others out and the war for Tron is fought in our world?

I just hope we see more of Tron this time, and Daft Punk has to come back.

I wouldnt mind some scene's in our world, but I wouldnt want a whole war fought there, as someone else said it was make Kevin's sacrifice at the end of Legacy all for nothing.

The reason I say vastly different is that the gap between V2 and V3 is very significant, IMO. V2 of the Grid was an extension of the original due to it being only a few years apart. Technology is much more advanced, and the new Grid should reflect that.

I can see Sam including certain aspects of his father's work like vehicles, and such.

I hope they keep the story simple but intriguing. The 'bio-digital jazz' nonsense should be kept to a minimum because it was a bit convoluted.
