Tron Legacy Sequels

I can't wait for Tron 3!
... and I can't wait for Cillian Murphy to unleash a new MCP!

Yeah I hope a new version of the MCP comes back for this.

Awesome as always Kane.

The work that Anis Cheurfa did as Rinzler, I really loved - the agility he was able to showcase I think helped show Rinzler as a threat to be reckoned with. Yes, it would have been nice if Clu's hold on him had broken earlier and/or once restored he'd been able to do more to help the Flynns. But the way they did it didn't bother me *too* much. I hope they're able to get Anis back in the sequel to do the more physical aspects of Tron again.

I enjoyed Tron Legacy, but you know one of my biggest problems with it? NOT ENOUGH TRON!! Seriously, he's barely in the movie, hopefully they do more with him in Tron 3.

Well, Tron wasn't exactly the main character in the first movie either.

I too thought this was going to be on the backburner indefinitely due to the purchases of Marvel and Star Wars. Very happy to be wrong. I really do hope they can polish the script as that was where the film was weakest, I still love it though. Also hope we get Wilde and Daft Punk back.

It would be awful if they had to explain her absence in some sort of contrived way. Although I assumed they had all signed on for multiple sequels.

But Tron was in the movie, he was just having an identity crisis for most of it :oldrazz:

I thought Tron/Rinzler was cleverly used in Legacy. It makes sense all things considered and if you guys watch Tron Uprising, it shows him in a considerably bigger role.

Plus his flashback in Legacy was badass.

Yeah I imagine they all signed a standard three picture deal. So as long as they want her back story wise she's contractually obligated to it.

Agreed :)

Edit: And the other thing I absolutely love about that flashback scene was the music. Adagio for Tron is probably my absolute FAVORITE track on the soundtrack (I love it all, but that is definitely the favorite). The blend of the classical feel and the technical is just beautiful (IMO)

I'm skeptical. Especially since there was no mention of this today from Bob Iger during Disney's Annual Shareholders Meeting. I hope it happens, though...

Well as cool as Tron 3 is, it'd be hard to upstage TWO SW-related announcements plus a Frozen sequel. So I'm not putting much stock in that just yet.

I want Daft Punk to return, but if they wont or cant then Id be happy with M83 doing the score. Oblivion's score is a different "speed" and style than Tron Legacy's score, but its absolutely gorgeous imo and Im sure theyd make an equally gorgeous Tron 3 score.

One area that Kosinsky really needs to work on is the action sequences. To quote George Lucas "faster and more intense". Thats what Tron 3's action scenese need to be. Better choeography and use of the discs wouldnt hurt either. In the arena boxes it was pretty good, but the fight in the night club was pretty ho hum. It wasnt terrible, but it lacked a certain amount of "Oh ****! Did you see what he just did?!"

The visuals and score were perfect. Those are two areas that so far Kosinsky excels at. Seriously, oblivion and Tron Legacy are two of the best looking and best designed films out there Imo. So at the very least Tron 3 should be beautiful.

I hope they bring back Alberto Mielgo and Tron Uprising.

A really great discussion was had about “Rebooting Classic Properties” and featured Disney’s Troy Underwood discussing Tron and Star Wars, Cort Lane from Marvel and David Voss from Mattel’s Playground Productions giving us an inside look at their upcoming He-Man.

It's weird, but the action sequences in Oblivion were pretty boring even though they were kind of original, like with that drone running around the cave.

Unless it's realy good, i doubt Tron 3 will get to the level of Disney's other properties when it comes to box office grossings, i mean, Avengers, Iron Man, Star Wars, Frozen and Pirates of the Caribbean are almost easy Billions, and then the're also their remakes of animated classics, one of them has also grossed a Billion at the box office (Alice), and it's probable that it may happen again eventualy with all of these other properties that are being remade.
