Tron Legacy Sequels

I think Jeff Bridges IMO died but ascended to become a god of that world. His body is dead but his consciousness lives on inside that world. That could work IMO.

Wasn't he pretty much God on The Grid anyway? He could bend the rules to his will etc.

No he couldn't bend rules. He was the creator but he couldn't Superman fly around or Matrix bend rules. IMO he will be part of the system now...and be disembodied or appear as such in holograms, tv screens, or even talk to Sam on the computer. I think he is deadzo though.

Or maybe as you suggest, he could come back Jesus style and be more powerful and able to bend the rules.

Hmmm i like the idea of him being disembodied, be an actual part of the system.

But he could do crazy things in the film. Like when he turned up at the End of the Line club, fixed the elevator, fixed Quorra.

Disney wants Jeff and Olivia back. because there is nothing they can do with Hedlund

Of course they want Jeff back, he's the Academy Award winner and the major selling point of these movies IMO more than Hedlund.

I think the criticism Hedlund got was pretty unfair. I thought he did well for a character that wasn't that well written. But yea clearly it's Bridges and to a lesser extent Wilde that are the draws.

I enjoyed Tron Legacy. My only complaints were:

1.) It dragged on a bit. The flying battle sequence near the end was complete filler.

2.) Not enough Bruce Boxleitner, especially as Tron!

3.) The downer ending.

Here! Here! Not bad for a guy who started off as Achilles' cousin.

I asked Kitsis and Horowitz about Flynn's death and here is what they said:

"Dying in the digital world is not the same as dying in the real world."

Yeah that doesnt surprise me, I thought they would go for something like that ever since I saw Legacy, they arent just going to get rid of Jeff Bridges.

I thought he made the character very likeable and quite entertaining to watch, despite having some poor dialogue to deal with. The character could have easily come off as cocky, but somehow he did it in a likeable way.

Bring on the next movie!
a tron movie will happen in the future IMO. but after Disney official admited that they lost around 200 millions from JC its over for a sequel in the next 3 years.

all valid points, i think they didnt show tron enough because they wanted to save him for a part 2. clu is so strong and powerful as he is a clone of kevin. having the strongest warrior tag on tron would weaken the character if clu is batting him around easy. so its best to keep it as....he tried his hardest while fighting 3 people and looking after kevin instead of walking straight up to clu and being shut down instantly.

but i hope part 2 has more tron, as it should. he should be helping the users. needs more Dillinger also. sam vs ed needs to be done.

I do think the middle part dragged. And i think a little more explanation was needed as to how the ISOs were so significant in the real world. I think a little too much is left for us to guess about. My theory is that they can be used to cure genetic diseases like cancer etc. But yea, a little more explanation wouldn't have done any harm.

But really, I was having too much of a good time because of the score and visuals to care. And it's the best 3D i've ever seen.

TRON: UPRISING Disney XD Promo

Beck is a young program who becomes the skillful leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron - the greatest warrior the Grid has ever come to know. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting and light cycle skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but he will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful, strong leader. Destined to become the next Tron of the system, Beck adopts Tron's persona and becomes the archenemy of General Tesler and his oppressive forces.

Loved TL, and I'm praying that a sequel happens. I don't care who writes it, as long as they bring Bridges and Kosinski back. I also liked Hedlund, he made the character very likeable. His part just wasn't meaty, which makes sense, since he was finding everything out along with the audience. He was just reacting to stuff that was happening. I expect him to be more pro-active in the sequel.

But, yeah, Bridges. Fo sho.

Whenever Quorra said "here they come!" during that aerial battle, my friend and I looked directly at each other and immediately started singing the tie-fighter attack music from A New Hope :oldrazz:

As much as I love the movie, I agree Hedlund's character was so poorly written.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Tron.

looking at the username 'rock sexton' above, what a curious name, it reminded me that I taped over 'the rock' recently, I'm never gonna watch that movie ever again, haha, not relevant.

It was a name on a client list I had at an old job about 4-5 years ago. I couldn't stop laughing at it, I thought it was so funny.

This is by far the weirdest critique I've ever given about an actor's performance, bu,t every time there was a scene with Hedlund walking away from camera in his Tron suit I fell out laughing. Dude has the oddest stick-in-his-ass walk I've ever seen. It's like a hybrid between Eddie Murphy in RAW and Emilio Estevez doing that "butt-in-the-moonbeam" walk from whatever that National Lampoon "Leathal Weapon" spoof was called.

More on topic, I really loved TL. Dragged on a bit, as noted, but that was fine to me. Just tighten up the editing and it's fairly solid. It asked some pretty interesting questions and I actually appreciate a film that does that without trying to provide all the answers. It's the sort of movie where I'd be happy with a sequel that explored some of those ideas further, but on the other hand I'd also be just fine if that was it and we were left to think up what comes next ourselves.

sams walk is that of a jock. a guy with nothing to lose.

hos character is a little stiff though and before he's on the grid he does that head turned a bit while delivering dialog that some actors do. its distracting but he got better as the movie progressed.

You leave Sam Flynn's strut walk alone. :o
