wasnt it said that if the cartoon is popular that they will do the sequel? it looks like Tron Uprising is over. which is strange because its the best looking cartoon since forever. why wouldnt a little kid watch it on disney?

I think that's what was said in an article in Variety. Disney felt they had a "problem" appealing to boys and took steps to "fix" that (changing Rapunzel to Tangled, making Tron: Legacy, buying Marvel, and now Star Wars). It seems that Disney (Alan Horn) are still cool with Tron being a franchise they use to attract more boys.

Don't understand their logic in how they scheduled the show and then ending it since to me it makes sense to try and build up a younger, current fanbase to be excited for Tron 3.

It's possible that once the wheels really start moving for Tron 3, that Uprising will come back or some other new Tron-related cartoon.

Because they would only play it sporadically and fairly late at night.

Shows have to be on for kids to watch them.

Having already grossed more than $375 million worldwide, director Rich Moore's Wreck-It Ralph swept Saturday's Annie Awards and is among the films nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 85th Academy Awards. ComingSoon.net had the opportunity to speak with Moore about the film's incredible success and, while we'll be running the full interview soon, he also dropped a brief tidbit about a popular video game character he'd love to work into a sequel: Tron.

Played by Bruce Boxleitner in 1982's TRON, the character was actually intended to have a cameo in the first Wreck-It Ralph.

"I can't specifically remember why that didn't happen," Moore explains. "...Of course, with a sequel, I'm hoping that we can find a way to see Tron himself in that movie."

In addition to appearing as Tron in TRON: Legacy, Boxleitner is currently reprising the role on the animated series "TRON: Uprising" and made a cameo as the character in the video game "Kingdom Hearts II."

Tron would be the second major video game character that Moore has teased getting an appearance in the sequel. In December, he announced that he'd also like to see Nintendo's Mario up on the big screen.

Wreck-It Ralph, written by Jennifer Lee and Phil Johnston and featuring the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk and many more, comes to DVD and Blu-ray on March 5.
