Tron Legacy Sequels

I wonder if Garrett Hedlund will be returning in Tron 3 as Sam Flynn? But I wonder if Olivia Wilde will also be returning as Quorra? Plus you can't have a Tron sequel without Jeff Bridges even though we did see his character end up merging with Clu and that huge explosion I wonder if Jeff Bridges will somehow come back for Tron 3? But then there is also Cillian Murphy's character who was at the end of Tron Legacy so I have to wonder if he will be a villain for Tron 3?

Was he? I only remember him from the board meeting in the beginning of the film.

I know the blue ray had a special scene in text speak where Dillonger Jr. is talking to someone who uses Master Controller's speech patterns.

And count me in for Hedlund. I like the guy, and I think he could make a great script rock.

You could and should do a Tron sequel without Jeff Bridges

You don't need Jeff Bridges but I would like to see him come back in some capacity. I wouldn't like the events of Legacy to be how his character finally exits the franchise.

Cillian Murphy was cast as Dillinger Jr in Legacy with the prospect of his role being expanded in future movies.

Yeah, I don't need Bridges back at all, that story is done for me. Hedlund, Wilde and Murphy would be ideal to carry on.

I'd love it if Kevin Flynn came back as a digital copy integrated into some tech - maybe something like the "bit" from the first film. Would fall in line with the whole "Star Wars" motif they wanted, with Tron Legacy being like A New Hope (Ben dying and returning as a Force ghost).

Yeah, I dont want Bridges excluded completely, but Hedland, Wilde and Murphy should be the focus this time around.

Awesome! Really hope this is all true, can't wait to hear more!

Walt Disney Pictures has attached Joseph Kosinski to direct Tron 3, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Wednesday.

Disney is understood to be eyeing a fall 2015 start of production for the follow-up to Tron: Legacy, which has not yet been officially greenlighted.

Kosinski was behind the sci-fi movies Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise, and Tron: Legacy, which was shot in Vancouver.

Studio operators in the West Coast city are in the running to possibly land the Tron 3 shoot, but no bookings have yet been confirmed, according to local players. Vancouver will host another sci-fi tentpole this year, Star Trek 3.

Toronto in 2015 will host production on Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad movie, based on the DC Comics property, and Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim 2.

Kosinski is repped by CAA and attorney David Matlof from Hirsch Wallerstein.

you cant have a tron movie without tron. but you can have a tron movie with the word tron in the title and not be about tron. :gngl:

Yes Hedlund, Murphy and Wilde should be the focus but at the same time Bridges he can cameo can't he not?

Tron needs to return in some capacity. Maybe not a mentor since Flynn has that role, but as the program that has the experience and ability to assist them.

Tron must come back or else Rinzler was pointless.

I hope they dump the Sam Flynn character. He was so uninteresting last film. I think it will kill the movie if they try and make him the main character again.

I actually liked Sam. I've never understood the hate he got. The only time in the movie I didn't like him was during the jet chase scene at the end when he was shouting cheesy one-liners at the bad guys. But other than that, I thought he was cool. I dug the whole Rebel Without a Cause thing they did with him.

I found Sam to be very boring. Brink back Beck (played by Elijah Wood!)

What sucks is that Garrett Hedlund is a good actor. They just need to write Sam Flynn better, which I'm sure they'll do.
