Love True Lies, but what about The Rock? The scene where Stanley negotiates with Mason in prison is one of the funniest moments in any action film. If that counts, that'd probably be my vote.

bill paxtons ONLY good performance..lol

You obvisously haven't seen Weird Science. Chet is priceless. Or how about Aliens?...Funny thing is he was playing pretty much the same character, but when you see him in interviews, even the older ones, he is nothing like that goofy character he plays.

I feel Near Dark is Paxton's best performance. He comes off as the ultimate creepy gritty vampire.

This is one of my Top 10 greatest action films of all-time. I LOVE this film. Sometimes more than...Terminator 2: Judgment Day. :wow:

That is definitely a funny moment, but this film balances action and comedy like no other film I've ever seen.

Yeah, I've never seen a movie that better balances action and comedy other than True Lies. Rush Hour could be up there, but I feel it's more lopsided towards comedy. Maybe Jackie Chan's First Strike could be up there, but that is more lopsided on towards the action. All in all, True Lies does it like no other.

Personally I think it's the weakest movie from James Cameron, so far. But still a lot better than anything a director like Michael Bay has ever done... :)

I think it's hilarious how people constantly compare any director to someone like Michael Bay, or Uwe Boll. :hehe:

I love this movie, I honestly can't think of another film that combines great laughs with spectacular action as well as True Lies.

Everything I think about this film in a nutshell. :cwink:

If we're talking pure action/comedy. That being a comedy with alotta action but with very little of any other genre. Hot Fuzz is the best.

Hot Fuzz is great. Love that movie too. In a way I kinda think of Hot Fuzz as more of a satire/spoof of action films. Even if True Lies kinda poked fun at it at times, it was very subtle, I think Hot Fuzz was clearly writing a love letter to the action genre through comedy/satire.

Love this movie my two favorite parts are when the bad guy shoots at Tom Arnold on the street and he hides behind a light pole and actually doesn't get hit. That or "What kind of sick b*tch steals take the ice cube trays from the refridgerator?" that line always pops in my head when I fill my ice cube trays.

Although I think Lethal Weapon 1 or 2 is the better action comedy.

I remember seeing this in theaters, the entire theater was busting out laughing when he didnt get shot behind the lightpole, and when he checked his crotch, and kissed the pole. :lmao: Unforgettable stuff.

I love True Lies. So...yes, it is the greatest.

Its close to being the greatest

Tom Arnolds best work which isnt saying much but hes actually really good in it

This is easily Tom Arnold's best work, but that's not saying he's not a funny guy. It's too bad we don't see too much of him in anything else. He's probably still sour over them not moving forward with a sequel.

I agree that it was the most entertaining I have ever seen Tom Arnold. He campaigned for a sequel for a long time. He was running his mouth on every interview he was in that there was a sequel in the works.

Arnold and Jamie Lee have attempted it too, but there was always something in the way. I believe last I heard they feared terrorism isnt a laughing matter nowadays and than Arnold became governor

Best.....picture.....ever.

And yes, this movie is gold.

They were supposedly going to move forward with it around 2002 but Cameron was reluctant because he felt there wasn't anything funny about terrorism at the time

The script was done by 2001, with filming starting in 2002 for a 2003 release, but the film was canned after 9/11, and Arnold Schwarzenegger agreed to do Terminator 3.

:csad:

Well as long as we got 1 of 2 thats alright, I wish we could've got both

I do think this was Arnold's last great movie...which was unfortunate since he made quite a few movies in that 10 years from when he made TL up to when he became gov.

Regardless of whether or not his movies during that time were great or not, I loved seeing Arnold on screen anytime of the week, hell he was even more bearable than George Clooney or Uma Thurman in B&R. :hehe:

Oh and don't forget about Eraser, that film was awesome.

"You're luggage."

Still one of my faves!

Same here buddy, :woot:

I love this movie...have it on dvd.

I don't blame him. Who would? Still, terrorism aside, I'm sure another storyline could have been worked out. Honestly, I think the urge to do the sequel was more from the studio then anything.
