TV coverage on Spider-Man 3

Oh, I thought it was because I really love Venom and want to see him kick Spidey's ass- but, yeah, what you said makes sense.

But, still- I haven't heard of as many people calling for Goblin, Ock, or Sandman to kick Spidey's ass-

And yeah, Spider-Man becomes a human rag doll.

Part of the desire to watch Peter gets his can kicked is from desperate Venom fans who probably want him dead so they can see a spinoff film. Thankfully, the really hardcore bunch are capable of realizing their idealism.

The other thing is that Peter has done a lot of things in the film to deserve his beatdown. As his dark side, Eddie savagely beats down the good side much like Peter was willing to do in his constant usage of the symbiote against his better conscience. It's metaphorical- Venom does to Spider-Man what Peter has been doing to his heroic self-image the majority of the film. There is a certain deal of drama that must be built up to make this single appearance of the popular villian one that justifies his inclusion in the story, but if it ever gets excessive I think people will pardon it if only for the fact that (like Kal-El 8 mentioned) it makes Peter's triumph that much sweeter.

By the by, listening to Linkin Park's "What I've Done" really makes a post like this feel validated.

So apparently the whole cast (Tobey, Kirsten, Topher, Thomas, Bryce, and James) will be on MTV's TRL next week.

That's great. I remember when Tobey, Kirsten, and Alfred Molina went on it for SM-2:

Friday night had Tobey and Kirsten on the Jonathan Ross show. It was as funny as hell. Nothing new to reveal though just good entertainment.

Spider-Man 3 cast will be on TRL on Tuesday, May 1

I'll update this page later tonight... got a SUPERMAN marathon now.

The TVGuide Channel is showing something on the Spider-Man 3 premiere at 8pm ET.
