Mystery/Thriller Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery

Lynch saying FWWM being important has me excited. One of the best horror movies.

That movie had so many loose ends it introduced but I'm glad he's addressing this. The movie was good and underappreciated by the theatre going audience at the time as before DVD, streaming, DVR, internet just too tough for people to really be able to follow in as explicit of detail required to pick up on half the stuff in the movie as well as it really being a commercially viable vehicle for the series to go into at this time period for too many reasons.

I think people who watched the episodes on DVD or Bluray 1 after the other then saw this movie in the last 10 years really appreciate it though. I feel it captured the tonal essence of the show; something that had been lost mid-second season and am glad this show will continue on track.

Honestly, I liked the edited together version of the deleted scenes for Fire Walk With Me more than than the actual movie. It was sort of almost like watching a movie in itself. Or a really long episode.

But it makes sense. The movie while it was a prequel to the series, had events pertaining to the series finale that were never addressed, until now. All that weird non-linear time stuff.

I watched the Gold Edition DVD back in 2009 from just randomly picking it up from the library (remember vividly as had been between places at the time moving to a new area/apartment, job, ect.). Then a year later watching the movie never getting to see the deleted scenes but have watched a couple online a couple years back when first heard a 3rd season was gonna get made.

There's so much that was going on in that movie with the non-linear time stuff as well as people disappearing and a number of other mysteries (whose Jude?, ect.).

Also hopefully, that one lady's spirit is freed from the doorknob in season 2 (what an odd end and is 1 plot point didn't like but will hopefully resolve). Season 2 threw me off the series as I watched it but the last episode and movie drew me back in.

I'd just as soon leave that Josie s*** be. Neither she nor the actor playing her love interest are returning so...

I think what hurt season 2 is that it went in way too many random directions. Also, realistically, how long could you drag out the plot line of who killed Laura Palmer anyway? You couldn't do that for say five seasons without angering or alienating your audience.

To me that's another reasons why TV seasons should be shorter. Keep it tight and focused.

And then we end up with the things like the Andy Brennan love triangle, which was horrendous.

I agree with this at times Seasons with something like 22 episodes has just too much filler when u really want more of the plot going forward. Netflix with their 13 Episode seasons have the right idea 18 is alright but 22 is going to far.

Looking at your avatar of Pennywise the Clown, I couldn't quite help but think of the following quote from the movie IT while thinking of Josie's situation: "Excuse me sir. Do you have prince albert in a can? You do. Well you better let the poor guy out!" Bit bothersome. They better not have some creepy looking person from the black lodge making crank calls asking about Josie on Season 3 if not appearing. :loco:

Anyway, the creators leaving mid-way through the 2nd season to direct movies didn't help. It just seemed the underlying tonal structure kind of fractured, it became like a sitcom moreso (endearing to some but still...), and just had bad storyline ideas perhaps brought over from other shows (seemed like they tried to infuse James's character into a really bad cheap soap opera show with Diane Lane's character, and too much silliness, and poor antagonists); also the actors seemed to start acting more like themselves playing a role and less like the characters they were playing as the series went on too. It was interesting hearing the actors/director comment on issues with season 2 on the DVD. I couldn't have agreed more.

I'd argue that the (then) series finale makes up for everything post-Killer reveal.

The deleted scenes were a real treat for a die hard fan of this film like myself. The only thing missing was Angelo's music. If a score would have been edited in that would have been so great.

That Laura Palmer corpse Funko is sure going to be a big seller at Toys'R'Us. :o

I could go for that Leland tho...

Finally got around to watching Fire Walk With Me in full a few days ago, and uh............... yeah. :o

Not in it's entirety. Netflix had the series, but not the film, and I never got The Entire Mystery set. Ended up watching it on Viceland.

It was a visual treat and the score was predictably great, but I think it just reaffirmed that my love for the show lies with Cooper and the ensemble, rather than a need to have gaps in Laura's backstory filled. I don't know, maybe the additional material would make me feel differently.

RIP Warren Frost

Darn how many actors in this are going to die before it airs.

Also give me a proper teaser with new footage already!

Oh and Fire Walk With me is fantastic.
