Days of Future Past Twitter Reactions/Early reviews by fans THREAD

Can I also say how glad I am that I didn't watch any of the clips beforehand? I almost fell out of my chair during that Beast/Wolverine scene. :lmao:

I don't want to overhype it at this point. But it's fantastic. Just go expecting a great X-Men movie.

And yes, Quicksilver is terrific. I think he got some of the biggest laughs at our showing.

Oh this is good, very encouraging. I know your trust worthy source Danoyse as I agreed with everything you said after the Wolverine premier. Glad you enjoyed it.

I bet that was still better though as you go to meet Hugh that time:hubba

I'm still not over that. I didn't even try to get his autograph or anything this time...I've met him, nothing will top that. I was happy just to see him again, and the surprise appearance at the theater was an awesome surprise.

But poor Hugh with that band-aid on his nose from his skin cancer surgery this week (it was just on Thursday night). Seeing him close up it looked like he was a little bruised too. It reminded me of that time I fell off my bike when I was 7 and faceplanted on the sidewalk. Hopefully this is the last time he has to go through that.

You're gonna love the movie, it's really terrific.

Haha I dont think you will ever get over that and neither should you I think I would have swooned and I'm a dude :woot:

Yeah lets hope Hugh makes a full recovery soon, sounds like he's a great guy with the fans and its not something you wish on anyone.

I'm sure I will but its always good to get confirmation from a reliable, level-headed unbiased source that what looked good in trailers and all the hype is worth the wait so thank you, just glad you enjoyed Danoyse:up:

Well, thank you. The audience seemed to be pretty crazy for it. I heard some guy almost yelling that he was "SO seeing this again in 2 weeks!!" when we were waiting to get our phones back.

Hugh was awesome. They had the world's worst trivia contest before the premiere event, and they gave away a whole bunch of t-shirts, posters, and DVDs. Hugh had signed all of them. It had to be around 30-50 prizes, and they were all autographed by him. How cool is that?

The fact that we haven't heard anything negative about this movie I think it's a sure indication how AWESOME this movie will be!

Can't review #DaysOfFuturePast yet, but I'll be seeing it again once it's out #outstanding #XMen

JP and danoyse, thank you. Loved your thoughts on the movie, and you didn't even spoil anything. I'm like JP with X2 myself. Excited now. Or still.

Just got home. What a long day. I haven't slept since I woke up Friday morning. I went straight to the Javits center after I got off work, around 6 AM. After 10 hours of waiting outside, and another 5 hours of waiting inside (with fun red carpet shenanigans thrown in) we FINALLY saw the film after 9pm... but first...

Jackman, McAvoy and Fassy surprised us all by popping into our theater. It was such a wonderful surprise. The three of them are just the coolest set of actors around. They intro'd the film and the rest is hard to describe.

X2 has not only been my favorite X-Men film, but one of my all time favorite films in general. I love First Class, but I never thought it came close to what was magical about X2... I have to say, I saw X2 when I was 12 or 13 and it CHANGED MY LIFE in the same way I think Star Wars or Indian Jones changed the lives of previous young nerdy generations.

Well, DoFP may be the sequel to that movie I've been waiting for, and oh what a sequel it is. I won't spoil anything (don't ask me to... not even PMs) but I just have to say I had one of the best experiences I've ever had in a theater tonight. So many details about X2 that I loved... things that never returned after X2, they were all back and better than ever. You can probably guess some of the things I mean. It just helped set my mind at ease.

This is a massive film and it's told with massive grace, heart, sincerity, humor, and character.

PS: Avoid spoilers at all costs. 2 weeks left guys. Make it worth the wait.

Wow, great to hear similarly glowing reactions from guys from this site

Glad you both had a good time.

Was the 3d good or unecassary? My local cinema seems to only have a 3d midnight screening on release and whilst im not a massive fan of 3d I need to see it at midnight haha.

When I saw the trailer in 3D the depth of field was beautiful. Nothing came flying out the screen (thankfully).

Oh really? The only time I've really liked 3D was Avatar and the depth of field in that really added to the film. That is the aspect of 3D I really like but I gave up on 3D a while back. Might give this a chance now.

When I see it (over and over) again, it will be in 2D... Don't know if the 3D was good or bad.. I'm just not a fan of any 3D, really.

I love that the reactions are "best since X2."

Me: Go home FC you're drunk. :)

I didn't think the 3D was anything special. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

The way I felt watching it is that *this* was the sequel we'd been waiting for since X2, and we got an added bonus because it included that amazing FC cast as well.

And I love the direction they're taking it in now. The more I think about it, that ending was just genius. Very respectful to what came before while continuing from where they started, with a ton of possibilities for both casts.
